    Friday night I was out driving Eddie Irvine in His Phantom when we ended at the exclusive joint Hyde. When I parked up around the back I noticed a red Enzo with a blacked out SLR parked next to it. A few minutes later a couple of guys got in them and tore up the road. When I spoke to the doorman he said it was Axel Rose. It looked like he knew how to drive the thing, it was howling up the street. I mentioned it to Eddie and he said he had been talking to Axel in the club and he never said a word about his car.
    Truth be told, Eddie regrets not taking an Enzo when Ferrari offered him one. I regret it more, I've driven an SLR and cannot wait for the first chance to drive a Enzo.

    You were driving Eddie around in his Phantom? That is way cooler than an other story I have heard recently.......Is that a regular gig? more details please! I met Eddie at Watkings Glen in 2005 - very cool guy............

    I currently own a Rolex that Axel bought back in 1989.

    I guess since he has a SLR that he is not having money problems (thought I read he was having problems).

    It's, um, actually spelled "Axl" (without the 'e') and he does indeed own a red Enzo (black interior, red gauges), approximately #117 of the total production run...

    He just finished up a European tour with his new reincarnation of Guns N' Roses (no members from the original band except for Axl, and Dizzy Reed on the keyboards from the Use Your Illusion days), so he's probably made quite a few bucks from that. They're going to be touring the U.S. starting in September now, and supposedly their 13-years in the making CD will be released at the end of this year.

    I actually went to see GnR play one of the warm-up gigs they did in NYC in June just before they went on the Europe tour. He's getting old, but he still sounds pretty damn good. :)

    Knowing "how to drive it" has not been the problem actually, but knowing "Where to drive it that way" has cost several owners the car, and one his life......

    I don't think the SLR was his.
    I don't drink, so I'm the DD. When he was dating Pammie for a minute, we went out one night, 6 of us in his Chevy Avalange(?) she sat in the middle up front, that was the longest I've ever taken putting a seatbelt on anyone...
    I actually sold Eddie the car through Newport Desert European about 3 months ago. After only a week it was stolen from outside his house in the hills. A week later I get a call from NDE telling me someone had called saying they needed to speak to the owner of the car and had left a number. I called and a guy said he had to come and see me. I met him near my work and he tells me the car is in a body shop in Sun Valley. I call the cops and say "I know where my car is"(it's insured in my name, Ed doesn't have a US license) they say "we can't send out anyone until you physically see the car" So I follow the guy to SV and he me directs to a location. To cut a long unbelievable story short,. I get the car back with no Police involvement(which I regretted for a while as I became the prime suspect!) It had $2,500 damage, which consisted of the trunk being torn apart(it houses all the electronics) and the two umbrellas($1,000 a pair!) Could you believe that there is no tracking device on the car, $350,000 so when it's gone, it's gone!

    NNO, remember when I looking for the Black Enzo, well now you know who it was for.

    Jamjarman, I see... I guess you never found one... Still looking for one...? Not that I know of one for sale, they're pretty hard to come by...

    3 months ago I was on here looking for a black Enzo, you said there was none available and that there was a unofficial waiting list. I even asked about trying to convert Ericsons other car to US spec or getting a red car and doing a colour change.

    He was a Ferrari F1 driver that came close to winning the World Championship, but his party lifestyle rubbed some people at Ferrari the wrong way. So he really never got the support he should have had.

    Carbon, I have heard many people pronounce the "x" like two s's, and the "l' sort of rhymed with the word hole.

    I remember Clarkson covering the Monaco GP a few years back, commmenting that the place "kicks off over the GP weekend but all the drivers miss out on the partying as they're in bed by 9pm" *insert long pregnant pause* "well, all but one" The camera panned out and there by the side of him was Eddie Irvine!! What a boy.

    If one came along for the right money, it would probably be looked at.
    With the rate at which they are being destoyed, I doubt very much if the "right money" will happen any time soon.

    Everyone wants one for the "right" money. The "right" money is whatever someone is willing to pay. Buyers set the market, not sellers. But window shoppers don't make a dent in the market. Tell him to buy the one in Souix Falls with the rebuilt engine. He'll pay under seven figures and can use the rest of the money to have the car painted black. They will not "GTO" or "Testa Rossa" in price any time during our lifetimes, so tell him to just buck up, drop the coin and enjoy the car.[/soapbox]

    I bought an M3 for my ex-wife from his bandmate, Izzy Stadlin (Jeff Izbella). Great car, but she was not particularly fond of the previous owner.
