2006 RennSouth.com Auto Festival and Concours Sept 23, 2006

The time has come again this year for the 2nd annual RennSouth.com Auto Festival and Concours Sept 23, 2006 from 12 noon - 3 PM. This year the event will be located at Kurts Restaurant in Duluth, Ga.

We are pleased to welcome back Jim Ellis Porsche, FlashBack Motorworks and the rest of our family of sponsors. Be sure to stop by and visit them at the show.

We will again have a $1,000 Best in Show award as well as class awards, kids choice and ladies choice awards, as well as the always beautiful RennSouth.com Girls, the 2006 RennSouth.com Spokesmodel Chelsea more! Don't miss out!

And for those planning to also go to the First Redeemer Church show in Cumming, the two shows are quite compatible, and I plan to be at both.

The Cumming show begins at 3 PM (just as the RennSouth show ends) and travel time between the two venues should be less than 15 minutes. So make it a two-show Saturday!

I've been waiting a whole year for this show!

Can't wait to see what comes out this year, I have a feeling it's going to bigger and better than the last.

 

Does the Alfa count? I couldn't find what could and couldn't be in the show. Jim, I am always up for a two show day, but I don't think the girlfriend would be into it.

 

Absolutely!

If it's European or collectible then it's eligible. The show is open to all European cars and many collectible domestic cars like the Ford GT, Cobras, Fastbacks and so forth. Those are all good choices for the show.

A 1989 Toyota Camry would not be a good choice however.

This is an issue that we continue to struggle with. Last year we had as many cars in the parking lot as we did in the show because the owners weren't sure if their cars were eligible. I'd say the Lotus, Ferrari and Porsches that were parked outside were every bit as eligible. In fact, the Best in Show winner parked outside unregistered and one of our judges spotted his car and encouraged him to enter. Two hours later he drove home with a huge lead crystal trophy and a $1,000 Best in Show award.

 

I'll be there as well. Great time last year and a very impressive turnout.

This is great. After this show everone can bring their cars over to the 7th Annual First Redeemer Car and Motorcycle Show at 2135 Old Alpharetta Rd, in Cumming which is just off GA141 only a few miles from Kurt's. The FRC show starts around 3pm...if you're a littlel late that will be fine as the show contnues to 7pm or so. There will be prizes, trophies and concessions and all entrants receive a free meal. We will see all of you this Saturday at Kurts.

The show starts at 12 noon sharp, so please arrive by 11.30 to get parked in the appropriate areas. We want to try to park by groups so all Ferraris are together, Lamborghinis are together, Lotus, Porsche, Aston and so on.

I've been asked a few times about general public participation.

It is free for the general public. There is only a fee if you enter your car in the show.

 

The weather is not looking good for Saturday. Is there a rain date?

 

I'll be at both the RennSouth show and the First Redeemer show, camera batteries charged and ready...! Looking forward to seeing all the wonderful cars and great people (I hope everyone still goes even though you now know I'll be there )...
