I wonder how long have you owned a car? and waht car is that which never says BYE let's see who has the record let's hear how many times have you moved and the car still goes with you etc. in my case I've owned one car for 9 years and it seems like ages to me (it has 13K actual miles)
9 years and only 13k thousand miles? You may "own" it but you sure don't "use" it.. by god man DRIVE YOUR CAR
it's NON-Ferrari so don't worry NO garage queen here. the reason I don't drive it is because I have some other rides and also the company car ... and most of all I spent several weekend miles riding a bike. but for some cheesy sentimental reason I don't want to let it go
The one I can't seem to let go of is a Triumph TR-6. Bought new in 1973 and currently has a total of 356,710 miles. Did a complete restoration in 1993 and have put 100,000 on it since. Paul
My pickup is 10 years old, and I've put 195,000+ on it during that time. Still chugging along. I like the body style and will probably drop a new motor in when it's time. I'll reevaluate at a quarter million miles My mom owns a 67 Mustang that she got in 68. Hasn't moved in a while
My dad has owned his bentley arnage t for 5 months "feeling of pride" jk. my grandfather bought his bentley s2 brand new and kept it till the day he died so... 46 years, and 30,000 miles
I owned a 70' Vette for 23 years, loved the car(my 1st car) but after restoring it during the last year of ownership(1996), I couldn't bare to drive it for fear of putting a ding in the perfect paint, so I sold it -(for 4x what I paid for it) Moral of the story: don't make them perfect or you won't want to drive them, Cars NEED to be driven and enjoyed. (especially F cars)
I'm the original owner of my 1980 TR8. Bought it brand new off the showroom floor in Richmond, VA. Also original owner of my '84 Ford Ranger 4x4 and '84 Harley Sportster XLX, owned the Pantera since '88. Kare's got us all beat be a mile (or kilometer!) however.....
I'm a fairly recent Ferrari owner, so no long term claims here, but I had an '86 SAAB 900 (my first automotive love) since new for 20years/170K miles before donating it to a local church.
I bought my 1971 TVR 2500 new in 1971. I sold it in 2001 with over 350,000 miles on it; 30 years of ownership.
Dodge dakota bought new in 1992 sold this year. Had it 13-14 years. Not sure of mileage at some point we rebuilt the engine and it now has 115,000 on the rebuild. My cousin has an F100 that he's owned for the last decade at least. My dad has had a navigator since 1998 (two of them actually he keeps cars 4-5yrs) I have a neighbor who owns a Rolls royce silver ghost (1914?) which his family has owned since new. Another friend has a 20+ year old toyota that looks new (not sure of mileagee)
i've had a saab 900 turbo for 7.5 years and 40K miles. nothing else comes close...hope to own my 308 forever. my dad has had his 914 since new, about 32 years, ~90K miles. john
My dad has a '75 Corvette since '76, 30 years.... 20k miles :-/ He had it restored a few years back and the guy did an awful job-- hasn't fixed it yet. The poor thing just sits and deteriorates...
Not a Ferrari but I purchased a 1969 Camaro in 1986...sold in 2006. 20 years. I put about 100K miles on her.
I drive a lot of miles each year and my current ride has almost 217,000 miles on it. It is a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport that I bought in April of 2001 with 45,000 miles on it. The longest we have had a vehicle is 7 years. My father in law has a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door that he bought new. It is in pretty bad shape from years of neglect. It hasn't been run in a long time.
I bought my Alfa Spider new in '79. In the first six months, I must have had two dozen people come up and say "I used to own an Alfa -- boy, I wish I still had it". So I still have mine. But it's a bit depressing to think that a car I bought new can now be registered as an antique.
