Anyone know if they're making a 1:18 version of the new Rolls Phantom?
Question - why do you save the boxes? I've specialized in 1/18 either silver or red and have about 40. F1, Ferrari, and Euro Sport cars. Couldn't wait to get rid of the boxes. Argh ugly ugly boxes garbage the boxes and stupid phillips screws
Sometimes I save the boxes, sometimes I chuck 'em. If you save them, it makes it more secure for transport - whether you have to sell them, move them to another house, whatever. I've been horrified to have found mirrors and other bits broken off in transport despite having packed them carefully.
Hi + 3500 models for me !! all scale but I collect in first 1/43 scale with I think 2700 models (built and kit) I collect since 33 years. In first in my collection, Supercars/ConceptCars/Sport Cars And after, Monte Carlo Rally, Police Sport cars,.............
438 only Ferraris , only 1:43 everything roadcars racingcars formula 1 concept prefer the beginning and exotics ( I have 7 different estate cars )
58, mostly 1/18 and half of them are McLaren F1. 3 1/12: McLaren LM, McLaren F1, Mercedes-McLaren SLR
I have about 28 1:46 and about 10 1:18. Its not alot because my thing is model aircraft mainly fighter planes.
Since I'm a big Schumacher and Ferrari collector I have the following models in my preciuous collection. 21 BBR 641/642/643/F92/F93 all 1/43 12 BBR 412T1/T2 10 BBR F310 7 BBR F310B 11 BBR F30 15 BBR F399 13 BBR F200 18 BBR F2001 16 BBR F2002 11 BBR F2003GA 13 BBR F2004 6 OMF F2005 1 OMF 248F1 10 BBR 1/20 F1 13 OMF F1 models/set 1/43 4 1/12 F1 Ferraris hand-built 100 AMR 1/43 whit metal models. 21 F40 1/43 1 F40 1/18 hand built 2 McLaren F1 GTR Minichamps 1/12 27 McLaren GTR 1/43 All models except the Minichamps are hand built by pro-builders.
I have many models that would be worth alot more if I still had the boxes for them. My UT Mclaren F1 gtr longtail in black is a good example. Without the box it sells for about $60 to $80. With the box I have seen it go for $160.00!
I also have 4 1:8 scale Pocher cars. 3 of them are Ferraris. In 1:18 scale I have about 80 Ferraris. I just ordered the BBR 375 plus #4 car today. It should be here next week. I have been collecting for over 15 years. I'll post my list soon.
In 1:12 I have the F50 and 250 GTO. In 1:18 I have over 100 Ferraris, Some old Woodies, Maisto CLK-GTR, Auto Art CLK-GTR, Hot Wheels Classic '68 Camaro (signed by Chip Foose) and few others. 1:24 I have some Jada Rat Rods and a few Chevy Trucks. In 1:43 I have the Cheap Hot Wheels Ferraris and a Matchbox Lanborghini Muira. In 1:64 I have over 100 Hot Wheels Ferraris, some Hot Wheels Chevy Trucks, Woodies, Dragsters and few others and a few Matchbox Ferraris and an Iso Grifo. I also have some of the Jada '47 Ford COE's, Chevy Trucks, And some other Rat Rod type stuff. SOMEDAY I'LL GET IT ALL DISPLAYED! Not that I plan to sell my collection, But if I ever have to, VALUE IS A LOT HIGHER with the box and screwed down.

Any serious collector will not pay even half the price for a model without a box. Its like buying a car without a title. Boxes are what make a model complete.
I have about 650 models in all scales from 1:8 to 1:43. About 250 of these are Ferraris and the rest are road and race cars of all makes. I tend not to collect F1 cars as a rule, well you have to stop somewhere! My first model was a Corvette from Burago, about 25 years ago, and my latest is the Pagani Zonda from Autoart. I have kept all the boxes and plinths and as you can imagine they take up a lot of space! If you want to see some of the collection type in " Colms collection" in the search function and have a look. Any questions feel free to ask. Colm.
