An italian comapny called reel did a plastic remote control Mondial (on a cord not radio controlled) in the 80's, that was approximate 1:18 scale

The best you will get now is a Polistil Mondial 1:25 scale, you will pay under £10 for one on fleabay, they don't have tail lights, I got a broken bit of a tailight & indicator and shaped them with a dremel (when I was bored!!)

I picked up a 1/43 Mondial T Cab from LookSmart in Italy. They are not cheap but decent quality. I got lucky with the color combo as they had it in the same exact color of my car's interior and exterior.

IXO just released a 1/43 Mondial Cab (1983). Nice quality. No 1/18 that I know of.

The best Mondial 3.2 I have found is the MR in 1/43, although pricey.

I have looked all over Italy for a 1/18 scale model of a Mondial...to no avail. I even contemplated making a hundred 3.2 Mondial Coupes myself and may still do that if Hotwheels does not beat me to it. LookSmart has released a Mondial T coupe in scale 1/43 that is nicely detailed. If you can get your hands on one they usually cost around $110. I was able to buy one on eBay for $65. LookSmart is of the same quality as BBR/MR; the difference being that LookSmart is about 50% cheaper because it is manufactured in China (whereas BBR is manufactured in Italy). If you don't care about getting royally overcharged for this rare 1/43 scale model, one is for sale here:

The 1/43 scale 1983 Mondial Cabriolet by IXO is well worth its money for $35:

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys! I need to determine how many Mondials I need to make in order to break even. I then need to find out if I would be infringing on the contract that Hotwheels has with Ferrari if I were to produce say less than a thousand models. I will keep you posted.

I have a 1:24 scale Mondial 8 made by Polistil.

It is a lovely non Ferrari metallic green with yellow wheels.

    Decal rear lights.

Once I paint the body red and the wheels silver, it should OK.

I would be interested in a 1:18 scale size.

If Hot Wheels don't actually make one you can't be copying their design, also if you aren't making thousands and aren't profiting or selling them from shops you wouldn't have a problem.

Get hold of a plastic Reel Mondial which is about 1:18 and make a mold from there

If there is one on this earth, I sure haven't found it.......and being a 1/18 collector and as much as I love the Mondial, I've looked far and wide. The gentleman who offered to make a hundred or so himself would make a killing on them. Count me in for one.

    that yours?

I do not see how difficult it would be to sculpt a model based on, say, the Matel Mondials to make a T.

Might be one of my Summer projects. Get one side right and can go from there. Thinking of Sand-Brass castings, which I'm dabling in at the moment.
