damn not cool at all. i was just watching croc hunter last night and thinking to myself how has this guy not died yet, kind of weird that i thought of that...
Wow, that sucks... he was sure quirky but he was a good guy with a good heart who did a lot for charity and his homeland and hometown. He has real young kids too Very sad.
Nope.... it looks like the page I linked to is a little overloaded and may take a while to open though
That's terrible. I really liked his personality and his appearances on late night tv shows. It's sad that his children will grow up without him.
how sad. he really seemed the real deal and super committed to his passion/work. really sad, i loved his show and really thought how he had found such a great partner in his wife...now she is alone w/ only memories and syndication.
I thought the exact thing, it's already hit Yahoo http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060904/ap_en_tv/obit_irwin I liked Steve's shows, this is horrible news.
Wow....Sad day. A true educator and lover of our animal friends, as well a terrific asset to our world. It's like a bad dream when things like this happen to a person as young as he is. Not to take away from the focus, but I thought stingray' posion is treatable if attended to right away?
Sadly its about time. That guy did just STUPID stuff with the wild. Not that I dont feel sorry for his family and all. But who who saw his show a half dozen times did not expect he would die this way?
Supposedly he was stung in the chest, which quickly caused cardiac arrest. Still, not many people die of stings, especially professionals surrounded by support staff...
I'll bet we find out he was aware of the stingray and was swimming over it. I have heard of the barbs penetrating all the way into the lung or heart. It probably hurt like hell before he died.
what's even weirder is his quote.. "If something ever happens to me, people are gonna be like 'we knew a croc would get him!'"
Wow, good point. I've watched that guy get up close and personal with.....well....Crocodiles..... Very sad, I really enjoyed watching on TV him as a young'n
this is a truly sad event, i loved his shows, being as uninterested in the topics he covered as i am, he still managed to entertain me. unfortunately it just goes to show that if you play with fire, you're bound to get burned
I feel sorry for his family. I do. I am not an animal expert and he was. I am not educated in handling wild things and he was. I am not raised around the wild and he was. That said, I always thought he was a moron and just asking to get killed! And he was.
I wonder what he was doing with it, and what happened that resulted in his death. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,20350156-1702,00.html
to me, that article starts off on a bad foot, it says that the animal may have been frightened or felt threatened, and that led to an attack. well, most animals don't just attack for no reason, maybe he might have stepped a little over the line, but with that being said, r.i.p. steve, crikey.
