    The large decal has the number '30' on it. Is that just the number for the event or is the Schumi FXX an extra car that was built after the other 29 examples? Thank you.

    I have heard that Roger Penske wrecked his FXX as well. From what I hear, he put it into a tire wall at an event... I don't know if it is true or not, maybe its just being kept on the down low.

    When you buy into this program, does it include having the car repaired by the factory? I'd think for the multi-million dollar buy-in, the factory would include that.

    At least it's getting used for is intended purpose...

    You know you've made it when you can crash your FXX ... and have a laugh about it!
    Considering it's a track car, I don't even think it looks bad with battle scars, I'd have kept it like that!

    From what I've heard Schumi's FXX is the extra car. They intended to build 29 and extended that by this one car. Apparently it was the first time that Schumi raced this car in an official presentation.

    It was a pure joy to see him racing around the Nürburgring. The sound's just unbelievable. Pix to follow...

    PB and I had a conversation at Pebble regarding Jim’s P-4/5, the conclusion of the topic PB stated… “I would like to see what they (Pininfarina) can do with an FXX…” Well Phil guess its time to find out.. lol.

    Seriously though, I’m very pleased to see no one was hurt!

    Now lets see that P-FXX ;)

    I can not imagine Ferrari smiling on a P-FXX the way they did on the P4/5. The Enzo was the opitome of street cars withh 400+ examples from what I've heard. The FXX is the opitome of what a "normal person" can buy with 30 examples. There is nothing more unique, with the quality level of an FXX from a distinguished car manufacturer like Ferrari. Although I can still dream about a stripped down Enzo shedding more pounds and being a P4/5 R of sorts, I can not imagine the same being true about the FXX used as the base car. But if enough money is exchanged, I'm sure anything is possible.

    I had a good feeling that Phil would never entertain doing such a thing, his comment was clearly not meant to be taken seriously. But who knows… give the P-4/5 FXX performance and Pininfarina may just get another phone call lol

    The car looks like it can fixed without issues, strange about the red paint though, I thought it tagged another FXX. Good thing onone was hurt. BTW, thanks for sharing your photos.

    There are actually a total of 30 FXXs, with Schumacher's being the 30th. Phil Bachman's was not the first one damaged - 3 went into the gravel at the Mugello test day in April, one was bumped at Homestead, and before the yellow car's accident at the Nurburgring two red cars hit each other! Conditions were very difficult for the FXXs on Saturday afternoon as there was a sudden short rain shower, and the yellow car crashed on a very fast part of the circuit (5th gear, flat out). So Phil Bachman is a lucky guy, which is good because he is also a really nice guy. The damage is mainly bodywork.
