Check this blue one. Its for sale here in Switzerland. http://www.autoscout24.ch/as24web/CustomDetail.aspx?wl=1&lng=ger&id=1797259&cuid=62574#
White's nice, not sure the burgundy interior is for me. I was told there were 45 black metallic 328's around. Given the 'quality' of Ferrari's original '80s paintshop, I wouldn't be surprised if we lost a few to the red plague.
sorry for the hijack, but is there any way to tell how may 308 GTBs came in this color? i think mine is " regular " black . my paint sticker says " NERO 20-5-50 " a black metallic TR or BB would be VERY nice however, black is hot and hard to keep clean !!! edit : i think VenusOnes 328 is black metallic.... i saw it at a local shop..... hmmmm Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry to aid and abet the hijack, but black metallic is far easier to keep clean than black. I love black cars, but I can hardly stand to park one in the sun where I have to see the latest batch of swirl marks. Not sure about color codes by quantity for GTBs -- sounds like one for our friend Carbon. I spoke with another 328 black met. owner who said he did his research on the Ferrari Owners Site and came up with 45 made -- but that might include GTB/GTS variants. A black metallic TR would be a stunner. Blu sera (nightfall blue?) would as well. Love the pic Rick posted. Paint label from my '87: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think my blue Boxer was sold to a collector in New York - SportAuto handled the sale. If the new owner is lurking, I hope he will chim in and tell us how the old girl is doing.
Sorry for the terrible pic, but here is my old Nero Black Metallic 1987 Testarossa. The color has it's good points and bad. It sorta does a flip-flop in the sun sometimes, looking gray, dark green, or even dark brown. That car had a special order black/burgundy interior.....a very different animal that's for sure. It is a sort of chameleon color... sometimes it just looks black unless you see an angle where the sun hits it directly. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
nice, but it is a euro car and the hassle and expense of converting are a tad too much for me. plus, it doesn't have a blue interior! john
Here's a picture of my TR in Verde Metalizzato - the pictures don't really do the color justice though. Don't think there is another one in the US in this color (anyone know of one?): Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Remember I sent you a pm about that car. S.H. Ferrari. 10K miles asking price was 59K. I believe it was an 88.5 ? Interior was dark blue and light blue ! I remember seeing forsale in a European ad, for a 512TR in a factory turquoise combination.
Dog-Gone that Verde Metallic car is...well....incredible !!!! Yes I heard that there is only one in the USA. And I can't imagine that there are more than 2 or 3 in the world. That color and the odd brown metallic color have certainly got to be the rarest colors ever. THANK YOU notoboy for posting those pics. That is just awesome !!!!!!!!! I wish we could get a breakdown of colors and numbers of cars by year. I would like to know how many grigio metallizato TRs were made in 1989. I'd guess maybe around 15 to 25 but really I have no idea. Does anyone know how we can get an approximate number or semi-reliable estimate?
Yep, I couldn't remember if you sent me a PM or an email & I was searching for it. I also searched this board but couldn't find the pics. It was in good condition, but the interior was an acquired taste! Seems like quite a few people here are digging the light blue interior though. I just went back & found your PM... I was hoping there would be a link to some pics on F-Chat, but no such luck! I was hoping to post a pic for the folks here - It was quite the different color combination!
That would be awesome! I have seen this question posed about 20 times on this site, but have never seen any info available.
The green TR is really a sophisticated color. I'm getting a little grey around the edges and wide around the middle and if I'm driving an odd color Ferrari I feel a bit less flash. Going back to the brown TR, what kind a of "color discount" would you put on that beast? The FML index puts a 1988.5 at 72K or so. Even if you hated the color, at what price would you buy this brown TR just to have a TR? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was thinking the same thing. It's not even a real brown but more of a dark sand. It does "light up" in the sunlight judging from pictures I saw last year. Check out the color of this fender. It's from the same car I could live with it though I would rather have a medium grey metallic over tan/black interior if I was going for the subdued look.
