info needed: Blue 1987 Mondial 3.2 Cab from NY

Just my opinion - but that is not the way to buy an F-car unless you have deep pockets to deal with the unknowns. Dont be tempted by a slightly lower purchase price- this will quickly escalate once you purchase it and start fixing all the problems that will pop up on an un-documented car.

 

The car sounds like a vehicle that was for sale in Patchogue, LI last summer. If it was the same car, it was owner by a Nassau County attorney. I looked at the car. A little wear on the top, door seals needed help and one of the doors did not seat properly after being shut. According to the used car dealer it was always maintained by FOLI and "all" service was up to date. I lost interest in the car and have no idea on its whereabouts.

Yes, they have a good rep. The car looks good in the pics and description. Needs a PPI, as is always the case.

 

A few weeks ago I saw a dark blue Momdial cab sitting in a used car lot on Merrick Road in Amityville New York. The top was down. A day later I passed on a rainy afternoon hoping to check it out. The top was up and covered with a tarp! Gave it a pass. No idea if this is the car but it's the only Mondial cab I ever saw on Long Island this color.

 

I can't imagine there are too many blue '87 Cabs out there, is the same one?

Looks clean but I suspect it has a strong case of garagitis. Either needs or probably needs a major, a clutch, a starter, brakes, hoses, A/C recharge, etc.

And WHAT is that thing in the front center console?!?

My thoughts too plus it needs a new top with latches. Pretty car though and too bad it's so far away for me to look at.
