    I listed my wife's 2003 Cevy Cavalier on Autotrader. I got an e-mail response from someone by the name of Luther Jones. He proceeded to tell me that he was part of the Canadian Government, and was authorized to secure a car for his client. He asked me a bunch of questions about the car that were normal questions, however his spelling was horrendous.

    He had contact information on the bottom of his e-mail, so I typed this info in a search bar, and came up, surprisingly, with nothing. He said his financial institution authorized the release of $10,000 (I was asking $5,500 for the car), to cover the cost of the car, and shipping arrangements. I was to give the driver the balance upon pick-up. I asked him for his phone number. He responded with his client's phone number, who happened to be overseas at the time. I asked him for his own phone number, and never heard back from him.

    It's amazing what scammers will come up with..........

    lol, this is the second one in a couple of days, we haven't seen another "fun with a scammer" thread in a while, i think it's time we had some more fun, messing with these guys

    I tried with over the summer, told him I had lost a couple hundred thousand dollars to scammers in the past, his eyes probably lit up with glee when he read that. I told him I wouldn't do it without a photo of him holding a sign but he refused to send me his picture. When I stopped replying to his emails he started begging me to reconsider, lol

    lol, someone wanted in the old thread a picture of him holding up a sign that said wanker. instead the guy got a picture of dr. z, from chrysler

    I had my 328 listed on eBay and my account got hacked on the final auction day. All the bidders emailed me asking if I had sent them 2nd chance notices for $25K!

    i'm sick of selling a few of my laptops on craigslist and getting these lame emails about people who are curious about buying the "item".

    Do you guys remember the whole apple laptop ordeal about the guy who tried to scam someone over seas??
