i received this watch from my grandmother. it belonged to my deceased grandfather, who got it from his boss when he was young.

sorry for the bad quality pics
but on the dial you can easily read omega + see the sign.
it has a winding mechanism and works perfectly after having been put away for +-15 years.

i've been looking on the net and the facia looks exactly like an omega dress, but the side is a bit thicker.

any idea on what i have?

This should be my next chronograph!
It's a Swiss made new and refined, and very limited edition of the Tom Kristensen Le Mans watch, naturally called "SEVEN" and only made in 777 numbered specimens Worldwide!
It has got a Titanium case and strap/chain with a carbon fibre (Real carbon fibre) face and the four coloured dots are Brazilian crystals of some kind (I think its Ruby and saphire, although I'm not sure)
It has got the same two Swiss ETA works inside as did also the original Le Mans watch which I already have!
Further it comes in an awesome display case complete with Titanium tools for changing the strap if you better like the included black cow skin strap which of course also has the distinctive round holes, just like the titanium strap/chain on the pictures here!
I simply must have this watch!!! :)

They have been running ads featuring this watch in the WSJ. Stunning watch! I wanted one ... until I priced it.

I did pick up this one up a couple of days ago:

    That's a great watch!
It has the new Valjoux with the date corrector pusher on the side of the case.

    Very cool

LOVE watches, been browsing this thread looking at all of your beautiful collections.

This is my first Omega, the 2531.80.00, Calibre 1120. I love it, although at 41mm, it's already looking a bit small on my wrist.

I think this one of the best looking Omega's out there right now. The skeleton hands, textured dial, red-tipped second hand, etc all bring this thing together for me.

    Hope you enjoy the pictures:

No posts for a while in this thread, so I thought I would update with my latest purchase: My first Panerai

A PAM 74. 40mm Chrono, display back, leather band. Found a retailer yesterday, we agreed on a price, and it was delivered today.

I wanted an Italian watch, and really wanted a display back. Also a date window. I have small wrists, and the 44mm panerai's just looked too big. This watch fit the bill, at 40mm. Fits really nicely on my wrist. Also, the titanium case is very light.

The Omega Seamaster is beautiful. Timeless design. I have the same watch you do, but in stainless and gold.

Nice Panerai. One of the few I actually like... Don't have one yet.

Here are a few of mine... Maybe someday get around to posting pics:

    (1) Original 1960s Breitling Navitimer (domed glass, manual wound)
    (2) Omega Seamaster Professional two-tone (automatic, c. 1998)
    (3) Cartier (Tank Francaise, stainless, automatic c. 2001)
    (4) Rolex Explorer II (stainless, Oyster Perpetual 2005)
    (5) Fortis B-42 (stainless/leather, chrono, automatic 2004)
    (6) Breitling Chronometre Aerospace (titanium, quartz, 2006)

Got a few more around (a Tag, a Tissot, bunch of Swatches, some digitals...) Next one on the buy list is an IWC... (Pilot Chrono)
You could say I have a thing for watches...

    Cheers,
    J.

Great watch! I've had mine since December 2003 - still going strong.

It was first released in 1993, and at the time used a different material for the luminous markers (tritium then, which discolours with age, now 'super luminova'). But overall the design has been pretty consistent for 13 years.

Unfortunately I heard Omega are discontinuing the 2531.80.00 after this year. They're really pushing the marketing of the Planet Ocean and Co-Axial movement to tie in with the new James Bond movie. Apparently there is a new model which will be revealed when the film comes out which I believe will officially replace the 2531.80.00.

Here is one of the original ads from 1994:

I'm pretty sure the seamaster will live on with minor changes. I think it's getting the co-axial movement. The omega symbol on the face will be like the PO's. The word Seamaster will be in red and that's about it. I think someone had a pic of it from basel 2006. I'm thinking about buying a second one used down the road. I love mine but hate when it gets scratched. So maybe I'll buy a used beater seamaster. Plus I wish I would have bought the automatic.

Watch out Rob, before you know it you'll have a collection! Do you really NEED another hobby? :)

Love that Seamaster, I've always wanted one. The only thing that holds me back is that I already have Speedmaster, and there are so many watches I want that I'm reluctant to buy another Omega.

Last summer I saw a watch called a U-Boat, very large, very cool. See them here: http://www.u-boatwatch.com/

I picked this one up as a weekend beater watch a few weeks ago, I get them wholesale from a friend:

I've had my eye on this one for a little while... Nixon Rotolog... Not expensive, a little unusual.

I don't know anything about Nixon except that they appear to be a newer line, just a step up from fossils. Nothing else in the Nixon line really does anything for me, but this one is cool IMO.

Are there any other, higher end watches out there with a similar movement?

I've got a Nixon two, second one. Great customer service. The first watch I bought from them was leaking water into the face (100M waterproof) and they sent me a new one no questions asked after the warranty expired.

    The new one...
