The most prevalent injury to Fcar owners is the broken thumb/broken fingers trying to wave while driving. Windshielditis. It is not advised to be waving in all cases. Please help lower insurance costs.

There was a time when owning a Porsche was a rarity, you belonged to a small select group of sports-car enthusiasts that really cared and knew about their car, their brand and other Porsche drivers. The standard greeting was to either flick your lights and or raise a couple of fingers from the steering wheel in a friendly gesture of mutual respect. It felt good.
That it all changed when Porsches became monetary status symbols and were as prevalent as Toyota Camrys. Alot of jerks entered the scene and started to act as elitist pricks....that spoiled it for everyone, they didn't care anything about the car or the camaraderie, just the status.
I've flicked the lights or gestured with a couple of fingers to other Ferrari drivers in the past and I would say that it's about a 50% return rate. I've noticed about 360's or above the return rate drops substantially. It's too bad, we are a small select (lucky) group of car enthusiasts who should be proud and respectful of our brand not unlike world war one fighter pilots.
If you see a Rossa Corsa red 348tb on Pacific Coast hwy. flash it's lights at you or raise a couple of fingers from the the steering wheel to say hi, that would be me. Flash back and see how good it feels.

It's usually a toot and a wave. If we're at a stop light, or driving side by side, or stuck in traffic, a few courteous words are exchanged as well.

The Ferrari community in Montreal is pretty small (only 200 cars registered in the province of Quebec), so generally we know each other.

I think that probably 99% of the owners on Fchat are the ones that would acknowledge other Fcar drivers, for the same reason they are on Fchat.

    Bushwhacker,
I've seen at least two 348tb s regularly on PCH. As either I walk to The Gym (on 4th st & PCH) or stareing out the window while on the tread mill. I think i see you all the time. Do you give her regular weekday workout? Next time you're coming at me I will wave.

    Don

P.s. did you see that someone got a 348 spider in the nieghborhood?

Everytime I pass another F40 going the other way I flash the headlights and wave. All other F-cars get a wave.

No, because they are enthusiasts. Do you think any of the people who get Fcars just for status are on Fchat? The Fcar owners on this website are the people who actually love their cars and love to drive them, so they are the ones who would give a thumbs up to any other Ferraris they see.

Good one! Sounds like a few options I wasn't aware of:

    - Starbucks Latte cup holders for the 360 (matching leather, I'm sure)
    - blue-tooth cell-phone into the stereo so we can all hear our important the driver is
    - gps nav with real-time updates of all lesser-celebrities waiting to be upstaged, for all the people to see you in the proper environment
    - drug-dispenser for more rapid recovery from the Paris Hilton social life (although yawns are so effective when dealing with the help)
    - any others?

Is the middle finger considered a wave?

As a sportbike rider sausages always try and get you to wave.

I don't wave at other sausages maybe that makes me anti-social and thank God I don't care what others think.

Now if a blond, female, 18- 24 year, with a pair of double D's waved at me, I would wave back like a M F'er

Guys waving at other guys ,WTF?

I was driving down the main street of Sydney in my GT4 one saturday afternoon a few moths back and another GT4 drove past me in the opposite direction. We exchanged waves and he ended up being a fellow Fchatter who I had never met before. But I found that the Fcars of around my car vintage up to 328 usually give the wave or the high beam flash

If flashing lights in a 308, 348, etc., you have to be quick to allow time for the headlights to pop up! I had a first in Hooterville last week. I'm waiting to make a left turn in my 348 and the guy in the truck in back of me gets out, walks up to me and introduced himself as a 308 owner! That was cool..It's a 'Two horse town now'!

Not many exotics where I live. I alway get a waive from guys in Vettes and all the ricers.

We paratroopers have a right to toot our own horns ( 11B-1P).Especialy while behind the wheel of a black & tan 328. I'm suprised at the amount of F-cars I see around Pittsburgh. I always honk and fellow F-car drivers usually reciprocate.
