    I don't think velcro existed in 1969.

If this is a serious question, I believe the patent was filed was 1951 and issued in 1955. Not sure about the commercial availability of Velcro......

Regarding the foam, I lived through this and it wasn't pretty. Every time you sit down in the car, more orange foam dust ends up on the floor. Replacement is the only option. After exploring the costs and logistics associated with building new foam molds, we went with a different approach. My upholstery guy obtained rectangular pieces of foam, pasted them to the seat (which was properly prepared and skinned) and then he trimmed the foam with a device that looked like an electric turkey carving knife to give them the proper shape. My seats came out really well and the modern foam is similar in feel to the old without any chance of turning to dust for at least a few decades. I guess you can check with Re-originals to see what they do when you send seats out for reupholstering. That being said, a good upholstery guy should be able to do what my guy did in your local market.

    Cheers,

    Keith

As for the fans, the "L" series cars (or at least the ones I am familiar with) have only 2 fans (Lucas, tombstone style) and each fan has 3 blades, not 4.

Let me know if you need photos.

    Cheers,

Gregg, as Keith has stated above, you will need to find a shop that can build seats. I recall an earlier post here, that said the foam was molded to the frames on the Dino and that there are no replacements. You'll need to find a shop that does a lot of "street rod" work.

This is the opportunity to make the seats fit you. Are you 5'6" or 6'4"? 150lbs or 220lbs? The upolstery guys have many different densities of foam available, usually glueing various layers of varying types to create a comfortable seat. You can have something better than the factory ever did.

    thanks for the info.
we do have a good seat shop here...I'm fairly sure they are the original foam pads...I know the seat covers are...I can see how they wrapped the vinyl around the foam....and yes the stock fan is 3 blades, but with this 80-85 degree weather and a lot of going up hill, I may get better cooling....I'll let you know...............any other 206 or 246's with factory original seats see velcro on the seat inserts????? there is even a velcro strip on the edge that wraps under the front of the seat.......

When I took my seats apart (factory Daytona style replacments from about 1976 I'm told) the foam, well what was left, was molded to the frame, no velcro anywhere.

Definitely looks moulded to the seat or moulded with the seat pattern and then glued to the framework, cause mine came off the frame with little or no fuss

Perhaps, ask Keith who did his and send them there?

PS - I believe I have a used 3 blade fan that I bought from Mr. Young/GT Car Parts 12 years ago when I bought a used fan, but it ended up being incorrect for my Dino and I just put it on my shelf for a spare. If the 4 blade is not to your liking, perhaps a trade?

FYI, my guy might still be available but he works VERY slowly. I think you should see if there are other options locally so that you can check the work and crack the whip.

    Cheers...Keith

My 72 Dino GT has 4 bladed cast aluminum fan blades with squared off tips. Look similar to your new ones but blades are at 90 degrees. I shortened blades 1/4" so they wouldn't hit chin sheet metal after going down driveways that were too steep and popping the chin up. It's easy to pop chin back down but the fans make a God awful racket until you do.

    Luck, John

That's really great, I can just imagine a passer by admiring the car then "clang clang clang". You jumping out with your tin clips and making that final adjustment! just love it!
