    Gentlemen:
I have the stick-on resin type shields on my 512TR and I want to change to the new metal/enamel shields. How do I remove the old shields without destroying the paint?

Use a blowdryer to heat the shield.

The heat will will soften the adhesive and the emblem will peel right off.

Did you see the "Mythbusters" episode about using vodka to remove bandages? ;)
(They subjectively concluded that it helped a little.)

    Yo Yoshi:

I just purchased a set of your shields, as has my friend Mike for his 355. Thanks for the advice.

I've just used a hairdryer in the past, as for any other stick ons, then a small drop of petrol on a cloth to get the adhesive off. Then clean, wash, wax etc.

Isopropyl alcohol is the stuff for getting spurious Ferrari Racing Team insignia off of one's car, and methanol is the stuff for drinking if one's ever thinking of putting them on a street car in the first place.

Use a piece of fishing line to get under the shield, attach the line as you would dental floss and pull it under the shield. Use the alcohol as suggested to soften the adhesive too.

i had stick on shields on my ( red) GTB for almost 2 years and just yanked them off when i sold the car. i put a nice coat of wax on the car before install and you could not even tell they were there when i removed them.

dont know if i am going to put shields on the black GTB.
