Hi guys, anyone good at predictions? Any ideas when the QP will get a facelift or if it's due for a new model?

Most likely at the time of the launch of the new Coupe/Spyder. This will be in March 2007 in Geneva.

    Ciao!

There will be a mild facelift. Nothing much, rear lights, trim etc. Rumor has it that the dealers will see the new coupe at Paris.

The Q-P only debuted in 2005, and you are already asking about a facelift? Do you feel that it needs one?

The new Executive GT and Sport GT have the cross diamond grille pattern, which is a nice offering.

Jason is designing it, and I don't think it will be a minor facelift.

I'm not ASKING for a facelift I'm enquiring as I'm about to order one, would make more sense to wait a few months if there's one in the pipeline.

Unless you want a full autobox, there is no reason to wait.

i will wait if i were him. when would the production be for the car that he's going to order? must be already slotting for dec production... so why not wait until the 07's specs are cleared up? there were discussion of a 4.7L V8. that is probably more important that facelifts.

the Alfa 8C - to be launched at the Paris auto show - has now confirmed a V8 4.7 with 450 hp at 7000rpm.....rumour was this was going to be put also in the new automatic QP (or a small evolution of that motor) while the robotised manual would stick with the current 4,2L.....

The QP has been upgraded already with the sport GT (new transmission, skyhook, exhaust, other front bumper etc) and the air conditioning of recent cars is upgraded also.....

What is Maserati's face-lift policy? How and when were the coupe/spider/gransport face lifted? Or do they just do mior tweeks and bring out "special versions".....

There is nothing mentioned about any upcoming facelifts for the Q-P, at least I have heard nothing from Maserati of North America.

    JGT is correct..

hard to say. if you are considering the 'facelifts'... you've got the modern (Ferrari/Fiat) maserati's example:

    3200 GT: 1998 - 2001 (4 model years)
(then moving on to north america...)
    4200 GT/Coupe/Spyder : 2002 - 2006 (5 model years)
    Gransport : 2005 - 2006 (2 model years)
    and onwards.....

you might be possibly able tell each year's subtle changes; mostly the wheels and trims. not unlike other brands.

with maserati, they will have enough variants to confuse you (vintage package, 90th anniversary, MCV, LE for the spyder/coupe/gs) (executive GT, sport GT, neiman marcus); they don't need facelifts to have so many different looks.

now, if they are installing a new engine, may be there are certain mechanical changes required that will also require changes to the body. hope they dont change much.

i was the first one here to conrifm the auto box with the 4.7l engine. we saw the prototype in modena in feb 06. currently, there isn't a "facelift" eminent.

we all know tht styling exercises start long before a debut, but at the time, the coupe/spyder was still up in the air and unconfirmed. unless something drastically has changed in modena, i wouldn't expect a facelift for at least anothe two years.

I agree with what Italiancars said, the dealer meeting in Paris is supposed to showcase the minor updates, among other items regarding Maserati/Alfa.

the 4.7l, 450 BHP (but possibly 470) is confirmed. The first car to get this engine will be the Alfa 8C, with 450 BHP, which is why I think Maserati will get some more.

Another piece of interesting news: it is confirmed that the new Coupe will be developed to fight in the GT1 class against the Aston Martin DBR9. This will be interesting, especially is someone decides to race the 599GTB as well...
