Is this the car in question, listed in the pre-owned section of HSM's website (www.hongseh.com.sg)? The website hasnt been updated for years but it says "1 owner", and there can't be many '99 stick-shift 360's in SGP. I agree it isn't a typical F-car colour that would appeal to most.

There's an '01 Spider going for $425K which is having tough time finding buyers simply due to financing. You see banks won't lend more than 4yrs & unless you have a lot of cash up front, your monthly will cost you easily S$10K, my friend said it's likely to be exported. To add the woe, it has high COE, 80% parf & probably 130% now which means the yearly depreciation might be too high to justify & high maintenance bill. Another friend spent big bucks replacing a reverse gear related issue+many other parts on his '01 F1 F360 & commented that if it doesn't sell, he'll just keep till it's exported by 2011. If I have the money, I'll go for a 360 that's under warranty or wait for my turn on a new F430.

Body of early F360 is worth about S$150K now & most likely lower when their COE expires. Dealers here & buyers there are going to make at least S$10-20K each, so foreign magazines prices do not reflect the realistic export prices here unless you handle the transaction yourself & maybe even exporting it to your other home so you can use it while on holiday there (several owners do that).

My opinion is if anybody who's seriously interested in buying early F360s that's under S$400K, you'll better have S$200K+ cash & loan the remaining over 2/3yrs or COE it now to benefit a full >10yrs finance but lose out on the remaining COE left now. You can still export the car when the parf expires in 2009 etc & claim that back+remaining COE from the time you paid for it. But before anybody do that, please request HS to do a full PPI so you won't suffer a heart failure when it needs some restoration work.

That dark red appeals to me & overall condition looks almost new from pictures, it'll be nice if that's in metallic. On a side note, I believe a manual stick shift will be very reliable & much cheaper to maintain in the long run while early F1s aren't probably the most desirable.

A '01 spider means omv will be about $240k (?) - now over 5 years so cannot be 130% - now is what 100% left ? - so its $240k. Body $150k seems low but let's assume its correct. Coe high but refund won't be much - say $20k. Total value : $410k possibly higher since OMV high value - so $425 k is about there with a dealer mark up and some room for bargain.

This car not sold by HS correct ? That may be reason for slow sale.

Foreign magazines prices are highly unreliable - unless they are agreed or transacted prices but most are asking prices - such price guide even less useful for over 10 year old car - F355 cannot get $250k equivalent overseas but that's the price here cause where else can you buy one that you can drive here ? All thanks to our unique car ownership scheme here where old car cause more than overseas due to restrictions on importing in.

Yes, if no cash very chum. Cannot use loan to buy any type of car (least of all Ferrari) but appreciate that not all can afford and have no choice. Not for the financially faint hearted or liquidity challenged.

Yes, I thought so too & it's the red one which was sold for cheap last year. Myth has it that it's subsequently exported. Anyway, the owner of this yellow 355S says he was told he's is the only one left. Whatever.

I also know there's one ultra-low mileage garage queen being kept like a musuem piece by a tycoon but I don't know it's fate now.

If you are talking about claiming back Parf and COE at 2009, it would only work if you did NOT renew COE. Once you renew COE, the original Parf and COE benefits are void. Meaning paper value is only on COE which you paid now. Nothing more.

That's what I was told by dealers which surprised me as well. They said the parf runs till it's expired by the tenth year so even if you renew COE on the seventh etc, you can still de-register the car on the tenth, claim back the parf, export the body & remains of the new COE. Can someone clarify?

Pistole, that's quite a few Fcars in JB & the Alfa 8C....is it already on the roads now?!

You know what? I hear he doesn't exist @ all! He's supposed to be back in KL, few people tried to reach him & he didn't answer his phone & when he did, it's someone else. He's supposed to visit this forum without fail daily but went MIA for months now. Nobody has ever seen him, creepy. Have I been talking to the taxman?

And the reason for extend the COE on year 7 is so that buyer can take a longer tenor loan.
