Before leaving Houston this morning I wanted to go by Gallery Furniture & see if Jim “Mattress Mac” McIngvale still had his F40 on display. The last time I saw it was back in 2003 along with an American flag painted white Testarossa that sat in a patio area but not parked inside. It wasn’t moved far from where it was last time but now has Texas inspection from 2004. From the looks of it people have tried to remove various things from her & has a lot of scratches. Here are a couple of shots I took while evading the “Mattress Mafia “ as it sits in a corner among discounted but poorly made furniture. That F40 really needs to be driven.

Jeff Gordon's NASCAR chassis is also on display & beaten to Hell.

Tru dat. Needs to be driven. Next time you see him, tell him there are a few Fchat people who wouldn't mind taking it off his hands if he has no further use for it...I don't have any money, but I wouldn't mind. :)

So let me get this right. Are these car off in the back or is this in the showroom where I shop for my bed, except there not for sale only for looks. I hope not what a shame.

Easy answer, to let the public enjoy them. Would you rather they were tucked up in his garage at home where YOU didnt have the opportunity to see them?

I'm sure also that it would be driven.

I still don't get it. This guy sells furniture and has an F40 but doesn't drive it just so he can display the car at his furniture store? WTF?

You just can't make everybody happy!
Where did the notion of private property go? He can do with his property whatever he wants. If he wants to display his F40 in his store - so be it.
For all those chirping on about the "shame" of not driving HIS car - let them buy their own F40 and drive it to death if they want!
I get really annnoyed by the opinions on this board where every Tom, Dick and Harry deigns to tell people who actually own their cars, what to do with them.

True. He can do what he wants with his car, but it's still a shame it isn't driven like it was built to be.

What's with the cheasy signposts on the walls anyway? WTF? :)

But at least it is seen by the public. And who really knows whether it is driven or not, these are all presumptions

Gallery Furniture is something that everyone needs to experience for themselves at least once. I've never seen retail selling on level before, almost like a circus & a museum. You can see everything from one of Elvis’ cars, various Texas sports memorabilia, an indoor tennis & basketball court. Princess Diana’s necklace & earrings displayed in a castle, tons of awards & photos featuring Jim “Mattress Mac” McIngvale posing with celebrities. The list goes on & on what’s in that place. All of it surrounded by furniture that he has made killing in for the last 25 years.

Right on. Mattress Mac is probably one of the hardest working guys in the biz. His road is not the one I want to travel; but, hey, it is his road. So if he wants to mount his F40 on a merry-go-round and let kids ride in it for a quarter, well, it is his car.

He keeps some furniture oustide in the patio area? That doesn't even look like outdoor furniture. He's just ruining the leather. What a waste!!!
