thats interesting, LTA has some weird rules..

    Jon,

car_trader, this question is for you too

when I lay up the car, am I liable for roadtax for the period in which it remained laid up? I laid up one of my cars early this year, when I re-registed it on the road, the roadtax payable was higher than its stated yearly roadtax...I havent gotten around to asking LTA yet, but it does have a weird system

chia lat - now become Jon's assistant - Ferrari chat singapore branch resource centre / FAQ / support - anyway answer is "no" that's why laid up (to save road tax) - as for higher, your car past 10 years ? it gets higher each year until max.

at least you know we are here to provide a good source of resources, not kena all kinds of "ultimo-ed/kdk-ed" behind bending

I find it weird too, time to go drink kopi at Sin Ming...haha
I think they are going to find it weird too, I am going to bring both cars road tax disc and ask why there is a difference (one reg in 1997 and one in 1999)

I just scanned through Napolis's P4/5 thread , and am amazed at the
"modesty" of the owner , such as the subject matter allows.

but I have to say , the car is so-so.

    cheers.

Fong, this is one of my favourite link http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/lta_e_services/online_enquiries/road_tax_calculator/road_tax_calculation.html

It is accurate so far & I use it to check on the road taxes for new & old cars.

CT, has answered your Q & hey CT, nobody's anybody's assistant here; just sharing our opinions & experience.

One more interesting option that we can use. If your car needs some major work in workshops/paint & the tax+insurance is costly, send your car for an inspection first, pass it, it lasts 3months-1day from the inspection cert. You lay-off your car @ the workshop so they can do whatever necessary then just one day before the 3rd month (they WILL NOT honour your inspection cert if it's one day late even though they say it's 3months & it's good anytime within 3months once your car is ready), go pay your roadtaxes+insurance & your car is good on the road again. It'll be the next year for inspection again from the day you re-new your roadtax. This works only for COE cars, I don't think we can lay-off cars less than 10yrs but it saves precious money that's going to be wasted while your car sits in workshop. I'm "saving S$6K" on my 911 now while it's under the knife.

Now, why do we pass the inspection first before laying-off?
Because, once you lay-off, your vehicle must be inspected again upon roadtax renewal & it must not be driven (no insurance) within that period & to be towed wherever it has to go.

I have also seen road tax being paid for just three months on an old Rolls @ autobahn, I've not checked but it seems that we can actually plan your itinerary with the said car & pay tax/insurance during that period & lay it off again when you don't use it. A little hassle but useful on old cars with big engines.

In a brief statement Italian design and engineering house Pininfarina has announced that their Director of Design Ken Okuyama - who was responsible for designing cars including the Ferrari Enzo, 612 Scaglietti and Maserati Quattroporte - has been relieved of his duties with the group with immediate effect.

"Pininfarina announces that, effective today, Ken Okuyama, Pininfarina’s Director of Design since July 2005, will no longer hold that position," read a statement issued in Turin. "The Company’s decision comes as a result of the various external activities Ken Okuyama was carrying out beyond his responsibilities within Pininfarina. With effect today Andrea Pininfarina – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Pininfarina Group – will hold, pro tempore, the position of Director of Design. The three Chief Designers – Guglielmo Cartia, Fabrizio Valentini and Lowie Vermeersch – will report directly to him," the statement concluded. Ken Okuyama was in fact was promoted to the position of Director of Design just over a year ago, during his second stint with the firm.

So the safe hours for driving illegally with left hand drive cars in Singapore is -BROAD DAY LIGHT - and the safe areas are - IN FRONT OF CITY HALL AND PARLIAMENT - WHERE YOU CAN STOP FOR PHOTOS - disappointed that no photos at LTA Sin Ming - no prizes for guessing whose selling - all I can say is - can take delivery conveniently and can inspect up close so can consider for investment - yum !

Hmm - US$1 million - each one come up with US$100 k or 100 people each come up with US$10k - Shall we all share ? Pistole can draw up the papers for "Ferrari Chat Singapore Enzo Trust" - then all can legitimately say "I own an Enzo" - Think about it - each one take few days - who will want to drive everyday anyway ? share also share maintenance etc - will make rich look like .......

also can make it transferrable - char char char - $10k share can transfer for $20k and so on - sure can - just ask any smart aleck banker - anything also can reit la

Damnit, now 1 less chance of me ever seeing an Enzo here :(.
And since it will be a blue moon when Tommie Goh ever takes his out on the roads here, then probably will never see one here unless I see the yellow one that I have only heard about :(

Do you guys think that auction is legit?

Tes, the man replies, I am just wondering, exactly how do you prepare your chickens?

Nothing Special Sir replies the waiter, we just tell them straight out that they are going to die

Looks like the seller used photos found on the internet. the seller is based in UK. and the photos is from a US photographer's gallery who did a photoshoot here with the enzo and f430. if I'm not wrong that gallery was discussed about here quite some time ago.

my guess is the enzo was on the road legally, probably had a trade plate for the purpose of the photoshoot but removed it before taking the photos. the trade plate kinda spoils the image. not having a trade plate and posting the photos in a portfolio is like handing over evidence to the authorities.

hmmm i thought the photograher is based in Singapore.
Also the owner has moved back to the UK from Singapore 3mths ago.
Question is whether the seller is the owner.
