This is the first thread that I made based on the fact that I'm not a F-car owner and the last performance car I had was a Vette.

I'm extending the offer to the F-Chat people I know, and who have been on a couple of the runs I've worked with.

I'm taking donations for the 1/2 mile walk from $1 to anything.

In a copy and paste simplification -

Any of you have met my daughter, Jordan, on a couple of the runs I was able to attend with her. Jordan has Rett Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects girls. (http://www.rsrf.org/about_rett_syndrome/ )

On September 17th, there is a fundraiser for the Rett Syndrome Research Foundation. ( http://www.rsrf.org/events/7.2.1.html )

It will be held at the campus of SUNY-Rockland, in Suffern, NY. It is a 1/2 mile walk to symbolize the struggles that families of girls with Rett live with each day. ( See: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...8,0.040255&om=1 )

I was thinking about putting together a run to follow this fundraiser. The walk check-in is at 9:30, the walk starts at 10, so I figure that with a little time for the walk to be done, I can be ready to run with everyone by 11:30.

Depending on the number of people that would like to go I can make sure that there will be the appropriate roads and there will be a restaurant at the end that can accomodate us.

At first, there was a way for people that couldn't send me a gift (when I was tracking Z06 orders, due to my employment, they sent donations to the foundation. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/sho...&highlight=rett )

So to the F-Chat group, there are about 30 Vettes coming so far, if any of you are interested in a 120-150 mile technical route to follow the fundraiser, please let me know, so I can make enough direction sheets.

    -Jamieson

If you can not make it, and would like to donate -

Make a check payable to RSRF or Rett Syndrome Research Foundation.

You can mail it to me at PO Box Four-Seven-Two, Ft Montgomery, NY One-Zero-Nine-Two-Two

    Sunday's weather is looking good.

www.sunyrockland.edu for maps and directions to the stroll-a-thon, 90 mile technical JDogg run following.

About 30 Vettes coming so far, this is an open invite.

A donation from $1 to whatever is required to walk a 1/2 mile as the fundraiser, the run to follow is for fun.

    25 roughly.

Significantly smaller than the summer exotic run, which makes it much more manageable, and it is also an unofficial part of the larger event.

So far, many of the people that are going have met my daughter, and I have recieved over $1500 so far from people who can't attend but wanted to donate.

If you mail a check today, it is very likely to make it to me by Saturday.

Otherwise you can use the rsrf.org site to make a donation on Jordan's behalf.

I went to the site that Jamieson posted and was able to make a donation with a credit card.

    Took 3 minutes...simple and easy.

I made note that it was to support Jordon for the walk this coming Sunday.

If you do it there make sure that you say it is a gift on behalf of Jordan so the gift can be credited to Sunday's total fundraising efforts!

I just made my donation on line too, and specified it was in honor of Jordan and should be considered a donation in connection with the Sunday stroll-a-thon.

Sadly, car's in the shop, so I'm out all the weekend events, but have a good time all.

    Cheers,
    J.

Had a great run today as well .... nothing like 4 NYC highway cops shutting down the Belt parkway completely for a few miles so you can run top speed with a police escort all the way from canarsie piers to howard beach.

    Jamieson,
Yet another great run led by you. Got to see some of the roads from the exotic's run again and some amazing new ones too. Had a great time riding in the Mallett and the Gallardo, both very fast cars!! Had a blast!
Hope you raised alot of money for Jordan, because that is what this was all about.
