Belt service completed within previous 12 months.
Silver on gray standard seats (Not my favourite interior by any means).
    F1 (unknown clutch life remains).
No options, no shields, no challenge grill.
    1 owner!
VIN indicates that it is a late 01, and not affected by cam variator issue.

Fair value? Thoughts? Things to watch out for?

No offense to skid kid - but I think he usually values euros too high by about 10k. Maybe because of what he paid, or maybe because he plans to resell and wants to retain the value. His seller told me he was willing to sell his euro for $x less than what skidkid says he paid. I know because I almost bought it. I haven't figured that one out yet.

I would really like the opinions from non-euro owners, not just those who *might* have something to gain by stating the values higher. The 2001 euro spider market is so small, that asking a euro owner what it's worth makes it seem like shill bidding that's too tempting to avoid.

If the guy has been trying to sell for a while then two words, low ball. I'm not exactly sure where the market is on this car though.

    I would guess $130k to $140k.

prior to buying my mint 00 360f1 euro model, i actually looked at A LOT of euro 360 spiders......let me make this short.

given all the factors you provided, if this car were red/tan....i'd say it's worth around 135k. take 5k off for the "less than desirable" color combo which leaves it at around 130k.

as "the seller" that's not true. I might have had a couple of grand or so more wiggle room, but not more than that. the deal that was made was a very fair deal. I had multiple offers about 5k less and I took no action. As for the car mentioned in the thread I think that 135k to 140k is around the right number.

    Agreed!

One other factor...location: Ferrari's cost more in major cities & especially California, particularly around spring time & summer! :)

I think the prices are about right. You should be able to get the car 135-140. I doubt you can get the car for 130 but you never can tell. It is fall with winter right around the corner and that drags down the prices a little.

Steve's comment that the location has an impact is correct. If it is in CA and legal CA car expect to pay a little more.

I know that a lot of people think that owners have a vested interest in pricing. All I can say is I have my car and I plan on keeping is so I don't really care. If you are looking for someone to tell you a low number I am sure several people here will oblige. Then again, you won't find a car at those prices.

I would look for a car that is exactly what I want. I wouldn't compromise on "Not my favorite ..." just to save a little money. That would only make sense if the deal was SO GOOD that you could pay to change the thing you didn't like and still be significantly ahead.

    Good luck on the search.

    Added Note:

If after purchase you intend to install aftermarket exhaust and challenge grills, you are much better off to buy one w/ them already on it.

True; good point. They are great options and add to value but not nearly enough to offset the price to install them.

I've got a Euro 360 spider, and while it came with an after-market Capristo and some nice Axis wheels....I still went out and bought rear AND front challenge grills, as well as skid pads and will soon blow coin on radar & stereo.

Look guys, it's a Euro....but it means NOTHING once the warranty is up: same car and some argue better/faster. In buying them today we saved $25k....but in 8 years I bet the difference in price between a Euro/U.S. car will only be about $10k. Our registration is lower too. There is no reason to hesitate in buying top-quality after-market stuff. It's ALWAYS a value to buy the car with stuff already on it; nobody gets dollar-per-dollar on their after-market when it comes to resale. In the end, you could always change-out the grills, remove the top-end stereo/radar....but oh-so-often it's those frills that drive people to wanting your car...so it's all good in the end.

I think I may have made a mistake with my rear wing though....(sorry, had to hit it again) :)

I prefer challenge grills usually, but not on the light silver car. I think it doesn't match the car.

I forgot to mention it has a Cap-1 exhaust. But from what I have read, this exhaust is not even an improvement over stock (sound or performance). So I'd probably spend $4,500 on the upgrade to a Cap-2.

Does anyone know of any other euro spiders on the market? (Private party cars only - saves me 7% in tax!)

If you are saving on sales tax you must be in Arizona, and there were recently a few Euro spiders listed from there.

I don't have the links, however.

    Keep checking, though.

    Georgia.
A couple other states are like this too.
If anyone knows where to find more private party 360s online, please let me know. Unfortunately I always find 95% dealer cars.

No sales tax in Georgia too if the purchase is from a private party?

Try Calif. Here it's 8 1/4% from anyone. You pay the DMV when you register the car from a private party!

You see, keeping the sun always shining here is expensive!

Try Dupont Registry www.drautos.com and search ebay at http://search.ebay.com/ferrari_Passenger-Vehicles_W0QQsacatZ6001

There are many avenues to discover the cars.

I live in CA, and I wonder..... is it worth while to buy out of state ? I plan to buy a 360 Spider in the comming months, like to hit Dec Jan Feb. I do understand it needs to be a CA car for smog, and will have some added transport cost $2k..?

    1) Which state would you guess is the best ?
    2) I am looking at a black/black 360F1spider 4kmi 2002 with a Hamann kit. $155k. It has front and side pieces, but no rear stuff added. It dosen't do anything for me, but will that kit hurt the value?
