This thread has been quiet for way too long, I know, but I have been very busy with other doings lately and sparetime has therefore been limited!
However here is a small video clip of my dear friend (and car collector)Joergen Stroejer with a little portrait (in Danish language I'm affraid!) of his 1927 Bugatti Type 37A, and his Type 52 Baby Bugatti!
Joergen has a museum in Denmark with a magnificent collection of arround 70 cars, and among them several Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maseratis as well as Jaguars, Aston Martins, Rolls Royces and Bentleys....and not least a gorgeous Alfa Romeo Monza GP car!
His 1927 Bugatti Type 37A is one of the finest examples in the World today!

Does anyone here have information about the "birthday party" in Molsheim in mid-September? I e-mailed the French Bugatti club, but never heard back. This sounds like an event to attend.

    Thank you.

I had no idea there was a bugatti thread here.

If any of you have T50 engine photo's, please post them. I am doing a 1/4 scale T50 and need all the visual reference i can get. All i have to work from is 4 photo's and a pocher model.

Also snaped this at the Detroit Autorama hot rod show in March. The owners rep was kind enough to open the hood and let me jump the ropes for some better pics.

Hello , when the T251 came to its only GP in 1956 (France) it was transported on an open truck. Does any of ou have a picture or know what truck , and was it rented or an official Bugetti truck?

All I know is that it's a rebodied Bugatti Type 57! No Atlantic ever looked like this.....just look at the poorly shaped doors and windows!

Looks too big to be the Nethercutt T51 coupe to me, but it isn't the greatest photo in the world. If I remember correctly, the T51 coupe has a small tailfin up the rear central spine of the car. It's more likely an Atlantic replicar, maybe based on a real T57, T57S, T57C, ot T57SC, like the one Jay Leno owns.

What is the chassis number of the car that kind of looks like a T35, but with weird pointed fenders and a squared off rear end? Never have seen this car before!

I'll take the white with red trim T55, or the T46 with the wicker/canework body :)

    Hi Stuart, :)

You're absolutely right.....this is not the André Bith Type 51 Atlantic! You also remember correctly about the the tailfin on that car, and besides it's not riveted together in two halves like the three Atlantics, and neither does it have the split windscreen of the Atlantics! The André Bith Type 51 was not an original Bugatti bodywork, but was rebodied later in life!

The car in question is indeed a replica bodywork mated to an original chassis frame! It does not have the finesse of the Erik Koux replicas which is as close as you will get to the originals! It looks much more like a "home build" replica!
Jay Leno's car was bought by him as a Koux replica, that on Leno's request had a new bodywork in aluminium fitted! Leno's car is an almost true replica of the Ralph Lauren car as it looked before the restoration that began in 1988, shortly after Lauren had bought the car from Tom Perkins!
The car in question does not resemble any of the Atlantics at all, and to be honest I don't really like it!

    Best

    Carsten

Funny, I know the owner of that car, but has never seen this car with his License plates on it.....that car sports the Danish license plates from one of the owner's other Bugattis, and in fact the registration number and the chassis number is a perfect match! His other car is a Type 37 and has chassis number 37155 just as seen on the license plates, and I guess these plates have only been temporarily mounted on the Type 35 in the picture! I can try and find out the chassis number of that car, when I speak to the owner again!

In spite of being a Dane, the owner of that car is now living in the south of France! (Does that ring a bell?? ) :)

    Best

    Carsten
