That is THE cleanest TR engine bay I have ever seen in my life. Great, great work, or maybe it just "stays" that way! Regardless, an inspiration.

Thank You very much AHudson....it's nice to know all that work is appreciated by somebody. People have high expectations when they are looking at a Ferrari engine bay. There are still several items that need some tweaking...but overall I'm satisfied with how everything turned out.

Thx. I'll make a search for more pics. I never saw this color in real life :)

I suppose prugna is Italian for purple?

I would like it better black. Purple and black do well together.

Is that rosso rubino? I think I remember a 328 that color. Very rich/deep.

prugna replaced rosso rubino in the paint color lineup around 1985 or so. Have seen 308QV in rubino(early QV) and prugna(late QV). Have also seen pics of prugna TR's, suspect one could have ordered early TR's in rubino, altho I don't specifically remember seeing any pics of these.

I owned a 308GTB in rosso rubino for a while, sold it, got my current 328GTB in prugna, cuz the dealer said "it'll be pretty much what your rubino was...".
Gawd, almost had a heart attack when the car came in and I eyeballed it. Quite a bit different.

Rubino is a maroon/burgandy color, while the prugna looks different colors depending upon the lighting - everything from black to brown to purple to plum.

Nice color though, really like it :)
Goes really nicely with cream interior, too...

is that a '73? It looks like one, but the chrome front bumper is from a 71-72 no? I had a 73 back in high school and it had the rubbery front bumper painted body color.

Grill & stripes are '73. Chrome bumper is '71.
'72 has rubber body color bumper.
'73 also has rubber body color bumper, but extends further due to 5mph requirements.

    Here's my '72...

1973 it is. It should have the the big foam bumper as you both point out but I like the minimal chrome look better.

BLU328GTS do you still have your 72? I bought mine in 1979 @ the age of 16. Someday the collectors will notice our misfit Mustangs...

ah, never saw anyone switch them out. I bought my 73 in 1985 at age 15. Promptly ran it into a phone pole and took out the neighborhood phones, ripped off my front left wheel and smashed the right rear quarter panel. I was seeing how far I could spin the tires in the rain. speedo was up way past 100mph then it caught traction, went back and forth and boom....telephone pole.

I then had it repainted black and silver (it was blue and silver) and as you know you can't see squat out the rear window so was dragging main st...small town oklahoma...and went to switch lanes and hit a friends '80 trans am. crap. sold it for $1400 in 1989.

Mine didn't have the wing. No AC and summers were HOT, HOT, HOT.

Yup - agree that the chrome bumper looks better than the 5mph fat lip.

Still have it (but am considering selling due to being garage constrained). Bought it new on 8/30/1972 for $4,100 out the door! Original paint (a few dings here and there), original (mint) ginger deluxe interior. Engine replaced @ 80K with real 351CJ. Still a cool looking car after all these years!

I drove from Reno through the Lake Tahoe/Donner Lake area yesterday. I noticed two Ferraris, one melon colored 360 and one black Testarossa. Its a windy hiway through the mountains, roughly following the Truckee river, a very nice drive, wish I had a Ferrari...
I don't know much about the Testarosas at all. This one had two side mirrors. I it think it was possibly lowered, it just looked really low, and it seemed the rear wheels angled in a bit at the top. It was a black car with a large white circle and number on the quarter panels. With a black number in it 82, 84 possibly, not sure about the number. Any one you know?
