I did some searching in these forums to see if there was a similar subject posted but couldn't find anything so I figured I'd post it. I was just curious as to how old some of you were when you purchased your own Ferrari. I'm 28 and I have been a huge fan of F-cars since I first saw the F40 when I was about 5. It's always been a dream of mine to own one, and I've been lucky enough to have a profession that will allow me to afford one in the next few years. So I'm just curious as to how old some of you were when you purchased your first F-car...

I'm 39, current non-FCar owner, and I am just now in a financial position to buy and OWN a Fcar (the maintenance cost is a huge part of ownership). Will most likely start with a 328 but I'm still undecided due to other life factors hence why my profile says "semi-active search".

Hopefully, within a few weeks, the other factors will be minimized enough for me to actually "pull the trigger" and buy one.

    29. I had promised myself I would get my first before I turned 30. It's a 308, not a 360 or 430, but I did it. And I'm proud of that.

Yep, same here. My goal was to get one before i turned 30. I got one with 29, and i bought it on my own. Didn't had a sugar dady who bought it for me.

Actually I should be more accurate. I turn 35 Oct. 3rd. If all goes well, I take possession Sept. 30, so I'm ahead by three days!

    I was 29.

I bought a 1974 246 Dino in Italy and certified it with DOT and EPA.

    What a car.

I thought I had died and gone to heaven!

I paid under $8K for it, certification was under $1K, and when I very, very foolishly sold it for $15K, I definitely thaught I was in heaven.

What a schmuck! We all know what that car would be worth today!

In June, Symbollic sold a 1972 Dino for $145K, and the buyer never saw the car in the deal!

Let's see.... I'm 38 now, and I've had my car for a little over a year, so I guess I was 37 when I bought it. Not a terribly expensive model, but very enjoyable to me. I suppose it COULD have been earlier, but family, and house were (and still are) the first priority.

Excuse me for being paranoid - this person, first time poster, no profile , no nothing, asks a question that allows him to view your personal profile which in some cases gives your name, city and type of F-car.
With all the e-bay scam crap going on I'm surprised this guy got a single response.

Well, I guess you have a reason to be somewhat paranoid on a forum like this BUT.... you don't have to worry about me trying to be an identity theif or a car theif. Stealing would be the last thing i'd ever do....
