I saw a Silver DB9 Covertible at the Grove Park Inn last night around 10pm in Asheville NC.
I saw a yellow Gallardo, a red TR, a red 348, a red 360 Sp and a 996 TT. Oh, I forgot. I am still at work. Karl
Hah! I saw a red 328 GTS, a yellow Miura, a silver 330 GT, a red Mondial t Coupe, a red 360 coupe and a red TR and I AM at work! <grin> -Peter
Peter, sure makes the days go by more easily, doesn't it. Peter, do you remember me from way back? Karl
Karl, I'm sure I would recognize you by the car you were driving or your face, but I'm embarrassed! Yes, the cars in the shop are the best alarm clock in the world! -Peter
Peter, you should be embarassed, lol. I am the guy who worked for Alex Quattlebaum back in the late 80s. I build Alex's Devin SS and maintained it and all his other racecars for him. It's been a while. Karl
I encountered a Red Testarossa in Boone last night on NC-105. I was in my Lotus Elise. The car looked and sounded great!
I live in Conover, just east of Hickory, but I spend a lot of my weekends up there. I never run out of great drives in that area.
I missed the rossa but I did see a yellow gallardo in town on Friday. I have been wanting to ride but this rain just keeps the mondi parked. Damned softtop leaks like a sive!
Karl, now I'm really embarassed! Man, I remember meeting Alex in the MG-Tojeiro at the Walter Mitty in 1984 and I've had some truly remarkable races with Alex III. Of course, Scott may be the greatest natural talent in that exceptional family. I remember him racing and winning with the MGA at Roebling after hammering the rear brake line shut after he couldn't find parts to cure the leaky wheel cylinder! I think Alex is one of the most gracious Southern gentlemen that I've ever met and it's thanks to him that SVRA and VDCA are up and running now. You and I will have to share a drink the next time we see each other. Maybe a fine Austrian beer? <grin> Congrats on the 944 Cup National Championship. You deserve it! -Peter
Peter, it is a small world after all, isn't it. What events are you doing in the near future. We may both be there. I'll be at Roebling next weekend. Since I won't need 944 cup points I will race the Ultima, just because.(I like to win) My 15 yearold wants to do the Nasa Driving school there the same weekend. He asked NASA for me to be his instructor. I told him he should learn from a stranger instead. He said he wants to learn from the best(I wonder what he is buttering me up for)haha. Anyway, keep me posted of your track activity and we'll meet up. Best Regards, KT
I would have liked to see that Gallardo - I have seen one near Lake Norman before - I wonder if it's the same one. I managed to get a pretty good drive in on Saturday, but yesterday was a total washout. Better luck next weekend I guess.
Saw a dark green Maserati Spyder cambiocorsa at Woodruff Rd. gas station. Also gray Aston Martin AMV8 vantage coupe the day before downtown.
OK, so I know it's not in NC/SC but... I saw a white Maz Spyder at California Pizza Kitchen in northern Atlanta on Wednesday. Also saw a new S550 AMG there. In fact I saw a lot of SLRs and AMG cars last week in Pocono and will this coming week in Homestead; but wait, that's on a program I'm working - that'd be cheating To that note, I'll also be training on Maybachs this coming week and for competitive cars, MB is bringing us some Astons and Bentleys. Plus some one-off luxobarge thing that MB has created that's supposedly worth $3.6M. I doubt they'll let us pro drivers near that thing though. Don't blame 'em either
I had the pleasure of seeing a black/tan 360 parked at North Hills off of Six Forks Rd. this afternoon (9-29-06)
Red 355GTB on Old Apex Rd. earlier this week. Today on I-40W, an orange Lotus Exige with yellow stripes. Peculiar color combo but it was awesome!
Yellow 360 in the parking garage behind Dunhill/Zink/Monticello downtown Charlotte. Who's was it, Russ???
While not an F/Car....there was a black SL65 going north on Park Rd the other day.....for Charlotte, thats quite a sight (of course, I'd love to see that black SLR at Beck on the road)
