Nice design , I like your sketch idea, should try something similar myself...

 

Some are my personal clippings from old magazines, some are sent to me from friends, and some come from the net.

I'm interested in car design history, so anything that is related to a certain designer or design studio, I will try to get the most information on.

Basically some of the best designs come from the late 1950's to 60's and early 70's.

This helps with work and it's an inspiration for the future, because as someone told me, you need to know the past and where you come from, to see the future.

With no foundations on design history, a designer is lost, because he has nothing to build upon.

I will try to post some websites of various car designers that made history in car design, that now are almost forgotten.

I just wanted to drop a note, I have gotten very busy with some paid projects. I have done some work to the chassis and made many fine tuning adjustments. I want it to be as realistic as possible for this exercise.

I just got into Detroit for a short visit. I hope to get some more work done and some updated dwgs up. I also want to raise some points that will need to be decided regarding layout and requirements.

Look for it soon.

Will be waiting for your new pictures...but what do you think of all of the new designs, posted by the guys so far over your chassis?

Should we go move to a more avantgarde/futuristic design?

 

You know I like sketching.., I'm not sure which one to pick yet, maybe that is why I continue sketching, I'm procrastinating my decision...but I know I will have to choose .

I just need to think which I like best.......

interesting to match the sultan's car...

 

I will pop up this one tonight, only the pedal details and the human figure with head swing are shown as new (not so interesting i know)there is much more detail now added to the chassis, but I want to review and analyze them further before posting them.
The wheelbase is also stretched a bit again, in order to allow proper seat travel and interior space.

To answer your question, I can find something I like in all the designs posted here...I dont want to be the lone judge to decide the direction taken. I will suggest that more than one bodystyle could certainly be adapted to the chassis design I provide. Also considering that this is just a cyberspace exercise, I welcome all types of design style to be fitted over the chassis.

If I had to choose, I will post images of my faves from you and Michael. I would also suggest that you choose your favorite overall sketch, and lets begin to define the cutlines and roofline details.

This is very good.

I would only say that the roofline and cowl/lower opening line is a bit low to be realistic.

In style, the car is very good, but perhaps looks like a variation/update to the F430 rather than a "new" Dino.

Keep it up, try restructuring the roofline to enclose the driver and put the lower opening arounder shoulder level.

here it is redone..from the pic above...i was just playing around with it...checking out the angles...i like my design...but i would prefer to drive yours in real life terms!

(the black part in the rear behind the wheel is supposed to be a carbon fiber diffuser...i didnt take my time to do it as you can see..but you guys get the msg)

 

Your wheels are not bad at all..but ive seen them before on the Scion TC...i say stick to the 5 spokes..but dont take my word for it. Try some BBS style ones...

I like your design...very Saleen...but the windows need to be a smaller.

 

I should be put in prison for drawing/posting that...And you're right about the wheels. I'll put up something a bit more Italian tomorrow.

 

Another quick one. I'm taking these pics with a digital, so its a bit distorted and bent:-/. My wheels don't look round anymore:-( A much better feel, but perhaps too aggressive...

Thanks. I agree that cowl is a bit low, but if you don't think it will work, I can revise it.

I think the prominent front fenders and the shape of the beltline (including the rear fender line) capture the essence of the Dino. It is a more modern interpretation (including up to date aero), so it's natural that it may look a bit like a modern Ferrari.

I tried to tone down all the scoops and such by not overly styling them. By making the cut-outs square, I tried to emphasize their functionality so as not to take away from the smooth, round shape of the rest of the car.
