In Europe apparently certain 550 Barchetta's were delivered with old school drivers helps. Does anyone know 1) if US Barchetta's were delivered with these helmets, 2) If not- if anyone knows where these can be purchased.

The helmets you refer to were not available to US buyers. US Barchettas were delivered with baseball caps. Some trade, huh?

It just looks so out of place when you're driving around town with your "stylish" ferrari helmet.

No longer available - I thought they looked very cool, checked with Maranello Concessionaires and Stuart said they are NLA.

Is it possible that there are any other sources that might still have some stock? Is there a factory part number (especially for the baseball hats)?

I've checked the Owners manual for 550 Barchetta 2001 US version. They do mention the helmets in it, so I suppose they came with the car, no parts # in it though.

My (US spec) Barchetta came with the baseball hat. The helmets were only available in Europe. The hat is very good quality, but extremely ugly in real life. I do not think you will find any barchetta owners actually wearing them. My local dealer said that he could not order the helmets or more hats.

Not delivered to the US with helmets, b/c of safety issues. I think there were helmets made that could be purchased aftermarket~ not sure if they were the same as delivered in europe with the car. the us version came with baseball caps.

LIke to wear the viking one, with the horns, whilst out on milk runs- otherwise, prefer the pith helmet- keeps me cooler.
Frankly, I hate hats. Can't stand 'em. Only wear 'em occasionally, to protect from the sun.
