Looks like Michael will stay busy after the F1 season . . .

    Schumacher extends three sponsor deals

Michael Schumacher's retirement from Formula One looks unlikely to have any impact on his future attraction to sponsors - with three big commercial contracts having just been extended.

Although Schumacher will walk away from Grand Prix racing at the end of the year, there appears to be no shortage of companies still willing to be associated with his image.

And just a few weeks after Schumacher's future plans were made public, sources have revealed that his manager Willi Weber has extended three sponsor contracts – and clinched a new one.

His current deals with financial consultancy firm DVAG, Swiss watchmaker Omega and fuel and oil company Shell have all been lengthened for an unspecified period of time. Sources suggest that each deal is worth more than £3 million per year.

Furthermore, Webber has also finalised a deal with German-based car part dealer ATU (Auto Teile Unger). Autosport.com understands that deal will run from 2007 until 2009 and is worth more than £4 million per year.

MS's name will be worth a lot of great PR to all of these companies. Michael Jordan (US basketball player) made a substantial income for many years after he retired, and he still does TV commercials.

I would like to be MS when I grow up.

I'll second that! After seeing John Force's set-up at the Fall Nationals this weekend, I wouldn't mind being like him when I grow up too - I think I could have fun playing with funny cars, dragsters, travel, do PR, have some awesome tractor-trailer combinations . . . . oop's time to go back to work!

    Have a great day.

Well he has to make sure he can fill all of the RIDES in his stable! Have to save that Billions of dollars that he will never be able to scratch the surface

Are you saying that MS will be reduced to doing German Underwear Commercials?

And yes, I would like to grow up and BE LIKE MIKE!

I would like to be like John also. With those 3 Daughters of his, I would be happy. OH WAIT! What I mean is with all of his money as well and BLOWING myself up on occassion I would be very happy.

What do you mean MONEY! He gets everything handed to him like most HOLLYWOOD celebrities doesn't he?

OH I LOVE THAT (WATCH, SUIT, DRESS, SHOES, CAR, HOUSE, 10 KARAT DIAMOND RING, ETC, ETC, ETC)! IF YOU GIVE IT TO ME, YOU WILL SELL THE FRIGGIN' ****E OUT OF IT WHEN PEOPLE SEE ME WEARING IT, DRIVING IT, LIVING IN IT, SCREWING IT.

I still haven't figured out why he needs any more money than the 600+ million $ he already has.

I just saw a Rolex ad with Jackie Stewart in it. It looked great, and I thought it was appropriate.

Michael will look just fine in these PR ventures.

Apparently, he had a cap on the amount of personal sponsors he could endorse when he was with ferrari. I guess this is because of time commitments or space commitments. Now that he is not actively racing, he is free to get as many endorsements as he wants.

I don't think that MS will be too bothered to develop his fortune too actively.
I rather think that he 'll take it easy and enjoy a quiet retirement.
Nothing else can ever give him the buzz he had for 16 years, so he might as well watch the kids grow, mow the lawn and enjoy family life.

His (alleged) $600m can grow without his involvement.
We will see him from time to time, celebrated like a head of state, a bit like JM Fangio was.

Well, that's my point, that's why I don't see a need for him to do any further product endorsements etc: At an average 5% interest he'll make a cool 30 millions simply from leaving it in the bank. That's more money than most of the current F1 drivers make a year.

I think he should do sports car racing. That would be cool. He would be at the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring a lot more. You know, every time.
