I once drove a 412 sedan from London to Geneva via the Schlumpf Museum. It was steady as a rock at 320-340 Kph in the RAIN!! One of the best drives I ever had. What a car. David

Crazy man!! Cool pic. The best ive ever done in my 348 is around 205km/h so far, with a friend driving. Ive done around 200mk/h many many times alone. The roads here arent good enough to do top speed runs. :)

340 kph = 211 mph ! ! ! must be the fastest 412 sedan on the planet. George

(although an Enzo can top that by 6 or 7 mph)

Didn't realize a TR could do 186mph. Maybe it's another optimistic Ferrari speedo! :)

My thoughts, given the quality of the image, was a dyno-run, or car up on blocks ;-)

Redline in 4th gear and 6500rpm in 5th, whatever that equates to in a BBI my speedo always stops at 115. Try to redline it in 4th a few times a year, would like to know what these rpm speeds are

Once did 186 mph in a modded 91vette, that is according to the digital spedo, car was still very stable at those speeds.

Did an indicated 176 in a countach so it was probably only 165, car was very unstable.

Also one-fifty in a BMW M1 (very light in the front, scary)
over one-fifty in (2006) BMW 330i (on rails)

And one-thirty-five or so in a 275 GTS (not a lot of fun at that speed, pretty light)

    Crazy people!!
Did you'all really think that I put a car on the blocks to get this kind of pic....???
I have a video of it,but it's to big to download,so I'll put some other pics, hope all the doubts are gone now....
Have many others, but none are digitals, and I must scan them before...including Porsche 928 S in the rain @ 275km/h...Coming up soon!!!

    Hi gang,
I admit that I have difficulties to believe that....
    Why?
    First:the 400 series cars are heavy,really heavy.
They don't have the 500-600 HP to reach that speed...
They are old cars, far from beeing modern...
I've been there almost(speeds of 300 to 305km/h),and I know it's not that easy as it seems...
    Turbulences,sudden traffic changes(changing lane etc)weather conditions,cops hidden....
I have driven many fast cars in Germany(??really..??!)where there are no speed limits, and got up to 275 scale on the gauge of a Porsche 928S '86 with new tyres,IN THE RAIN!!!And up to 295 in good weather conditions with a 928 S4....So I know personally FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE that it is not difficult to step on it,whatever the conditions are,the only problem is that you will wreck the car,and probably get killed...What is difficult is this:keeping the car on the road in the rainy conditions, anticipating other drivers, preview an "escape" way out in case of....Traffic conditions can indeed change very fast sometimes...Having a little experience is also a good point...because y'll only get some 1/100's of a second to decide what to do,in case of somethin' happens you don't want,(no anticipation is the problem). And making in a 1/100 of a second a decision, knowing that you DON'T have the good or right answer, only "the best from all the worst ones..."is really really difficult! And uh...don't drink of sniff....
