Hi all. Just stumbled onto this site/forum. Been eyeing a 348/355 for quite some time. But cant seem to figure out the economics of buying a ferrari. For eg i know of pair of testarossas going for only 150k, wherelse the 348/355 seems to be priced quite a bit higher, OF course the 360s are astronomical, even after 3-4 years of use. And autoinc has a spyder asking for 475k, which is reckoned to be a "good buy" by some. Can anyone here be so kind as to giv a brief explaination?? I have got a budget of only about 250k, give and take a little. Thanks
Hi Fcar1 could you please fill in your profile. It would allow other members to take you more seriously.
Lung, you mean dinner? Yes, will be there to support. You in town then? Anyone wants a simple early morning Sunday drive? Please SMS each other then. Think we'll set off from the East since most of us stay there.
Hi! Well, @ that budget you can join some of us in the "classic" section & I would consider an F355 among that as all are COE cars. 360s will never be below S$300K for the moment simply because of the paper+body value. It'll be interesting to see what happens in 2008/9 then. Buying a newer model has lesser headaches but you'll still lose about S$30K/yr which is about the rule of time & excluding running cost such as insurance/tax/maintenance. An F360 will also give you a better Ferrari experience in terms of power/reliability/looks & F1 gear! I was surprised to see a 911/964 Targa C2 going for just S$70K not sure of the condition. Guys, it's official! Carbon Fibre rims do exist! Saw it from a Porsche magazine & installed on a 996GT3RS. Think it's made by Dymag & weighs a paltry 6kg/rim a good 30kg saving on the car! Improves braking, steering response etc. Wonder if it's durable for daily street use?
Hey Lung, just happened to see your profile. Surprised to see you had an integra. What's this? Occupation: Retired Chef - Ah Lung's Foochow Cuisine BTW, where's that gothic-like gate where your F430 stood? Very good contrast!
Thanks for the reply. So what is the absolute minimum for a F360?? $400k?? To me losing $30k/year on a ferrari is very reasonable indeed, considering new 430s start at 800k. I also happened to jump thru this thread, and to my dismay found that very very 355s and 348s left in Sing---seems like u guys' cars are the remaining 1s. That makes my chances of getting a 355/348almost nil. So i may need to go for the 360s instead. Any advise? Lastly, car dealers like autoinc and Autobahn/HS...how neg are their prices?? Rgds
Wow, so Abang Lung has a rossa corsa F430 coupe.. Thanks for putting up the photo, you really made my day.. One question though, CCM brakes or not?
Finally I've seen a Rossa Corsa F430 on the road.. around buona vista MRT.. the sound was out of this world.. I'm already addicted. Didn't notice the plate though.. sekali it was lung..
Apparently there's slight difference in colour tone under the same name but different paint manufacturer. I think Ferrari used Glasurit before with the familiar parrot logo & now PPG. There's also one called SpiesHecker based in Cologne, Germany. My new paint is under PPG code #322 which is Rosso Corsa while the earlier was Glasurit. The PPG has a nicer deeper tone. I didn't go for Rosso Scuderia as that proved "too orange" for a classic car with big proportions. Perhaps a metallic paint could have been interesting as well but maybe a grand more. I think the pearl white for the Maserati costs S$5K more than usual? Lung? While Philip told us the signature Lambo pearl green costs a whopping S$25K more than usual & I think Porsche charges S$7K for metallic paint.
Hi Lung, just u yesterday at car wash too... later in the evening, think i saw a red 355( rare sight) also at the Esso (",)
Sorry I don't know anything much about the Bentley except I like the rear lights @ night. Can you please tell us the difference in performance/handling between the G'sport & F430? Which gave you more pleasure per $ How the sport modes differ, sound, maintenance, build quality like cabin, maybe even the entertainment system etc.
