Dusty - All I can say is wow! Many thanks for organizing such a spectacular event. Other than some inclement weather I don't think it could have gone any smoother. My only concern is whether or not there will be a third annual run next year. That run up the 101 was nothing short of AMAZING! I can only imagine the rash of crap the CHP will be receiving over the next few weeks.

For those of you who did not attend you missed out on a great event. The best part? The CHP closes (as in blocks) off the 101 North freeway and all the on ramps for about 10 miles (or so it seems). 100+ supercars accelerate onto the freeway with no traffic, no rules, no limits, and no holds barred! I knew the F40 was fast but it knowing it and doing it are two different things! :)

I'm sure many of you have more interesting things to add. Again ... thanks Dusty. A one in a chance opportunity to do what we did today. Well worth the price of admission and glad it went to help a great cause!

    In front of you
$150 bucks and all I got was a hamburger and beans :D

BUT !!! I have to say I'd pay it (donate to a great cause) again, even if they were handing out bread and water.

Off the hook ... bad azz ... insane ... sureal ... ballz out ...... etc. etc. etc.

I don't know if it's cool to talk about the actual running part of the run, it was insane fun.

Dusty, I know you sell coffee, but damn buddy, YOU GOT JUICE !!!!

    Thanks

    G

What an adrenelin rush! The initial run onto the freeway at Valley Circle up to 130 plus, surrounded by Supercars accelerating to redline in all five or six lanes was a memory that will last forever. I felt like I was inside a video game.

I ran along side the F-40 for a mile or so and I've got to say that the sound of that car at redline made the hair on my neck stand up.

The specators on the overpasses seem to love it but I'm not sure about all those other ordinary drivers who were stopped or impedded for our fun. All I can say is I'll be there next year for sure if the CHP will allow us to do this again.

Thanks Dusty for your hurculean efforts in making this happen. Woo Hoo!

Let's all e-mail Ryan at the CHP and convey our appreciation, with the hope that the money raised this year will make this a viable event for the CHP next year.

That last picture with the green Gallardo in front of you, I was riding shotgun. Did you like that 5k rpm drop off the stop sign?

yep, i saw the burn out from the gallardo. Did you see that kid standing at the corner with his jaw on the floor? I would have been doing the exact same thing if I hadn't been in the NSX.

Apparently some of us were in the "have not" group (Ferrari's included) because we didn't see a CHP vehicle the entire way there and were left to fend lights, traffic, and the freeways ourselves.

    Anyway.....

Thanks to Dustin and everyone who put this on; sign me up for next year now!

    - Dan

I feel so bad I had to miss this. Looks like it was a great event, and therefore typically Dusty. Business before pleasure, though. Funny thing was we were with more than 100 awesome cars on a damp golf course too. No highway run with an escort, but we did get a P-51 flyby. Still, I'm sorry I missed out. If this isn't a great reason to support human cloning, I don't know what is.

That's too bad DanP, sorry to hear your misfortune.
We had a chp cruiser on one side and a chp bike on the other.
I can tell you one thing, the cruiser can go 130+++ :D

Maybe you had this misfortune cause you had SteveR in the passenger seat ;)

It's interesting to note that after the CHP officer (blocking traffic to the on-ramp) saw the F40 pass and accelerate onto the fwy, he seemed to think that it was the last car of the group. He literally "ran" to his car, jumped in and sped up to the group onto the 101...the CHP car below the overpass (stopping 101N traffic) followed. The fwy started flowing again.

Unfortunately, the rest of the group (Ferraris, Lambos, etc) was slowly driving down Valley Circle toward the onramp and suddenly hit normal traffic...with no CHP officers in site. The car bringing up the rear was local PD.

Let's hope they coordinate better for next year's event! Props to Dustin and all for the herculean efforts!!

Sorry to hear about the mix up in the rear, we could tell this was going to be a problem at the staging area, more to do with people thinking they know better than the organisers than any thing Dusty could control.
As always Dusty did a great job, we got onto an empty freeway, I pulled it into 6th at redline from 5th, indicating 160mph ++, at that point i stopped looking down. I backed off a little, until 2 Ford GT's went by me on either side just FLAT out,( about 1/2 mile later), we didn't drop below a 110 until we got to Agoura.!!!! way to much fun, well done Dusty, next year I will have a car for you to dive in the front of the line!!

Maybe he didn't like what he saw when I hit the afterburners on the F40 and was planning to give chase! :)

I had no idea the freeway was completely blocked off until I turned onto the on ramp and saw that another cruiser had completely blocked all normal traffic. The cars in front of me went balls out onto the freeway which is when I realized what was happening! For those of you who missed the event or didn't have the benefit of the CHP blocking the freeway - I am sincerely sorry to say that you missed a truly unbelievable moment! A wide open 101 freeway with a few cars in front of me but nothing in the fast lane as far as I could see. Nothing to impede me from planting my foot to the floor and listening/feeling the twin turbos spool up and reach full boost in sixth gear! It might never happen again the way it did today so I will cherish it forever! Since Ferrari speedos tend to be optimistic I cannot claim to have been going 180 although the speedo indicated 180. It was probably somewhere around 170 which was plenty fast.

The best part was being able to maintain the incredible speeds for 25 to 30 miles. I've never seen anything like it. Probably never will. I have a sinking feeling that the public (all the regular cars we eventually passed like maniacs) will protest relentlessly and the politicians will never allow this to occur again.

Like I said ... a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thanks Dusty for providing all of us with such an opportunity. If it happens again I will be the first to sign up. If it doesn't happen again I will remember it forever! :)
