I looking for a Black/Tan Mondial 3.2 to keep and drive. But trying to find a good one, by myself, has been taking up way too much of my time. So I'm asking for a little help. I was going to post this in the model specific section but didn't want to limit my opportunities for that hidden gem that someone may know about.

Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks but the long term maintenance costs of a 3.4 is probably twice that of a 3.2. Just 86 through 88 and less than 50,000 miles plus as specified in my ad. Plus, I like the big vents :D

I like this kind of game...spending other peoples $...=)

Serioulsy though, (& excuse my ignorance), but why is a 3.4 twice the maintanence of a 3.2?

The first thing that comes to mind is that the motor needs to come out for a cam belt change. Depending on which 3.4 you have there's also the Valeo clutch and electronically controlled suspension to consider for parts price and availability in years to come.

BTW, I do appreciate any kind of info but the intent of this proposal is to solicit help from someone who has first-hand knowledge of the car that I'm looking for.

I have been looking at this car- I think it is gorgeous. I owned a 91 T Cab ( white/tan) years ago. I put 30K miles on it with only routine mainainence. I think the only unexpected problem I had was a clutch failure ( master slave cylinder I believe).
This car looks pefect to me. I get tired of red/tans- even though there is one in y garage right now.

Sorry, his ad says he is looking for a 3.2 coupe, not convertible.

Thanks to all for the links and PMs but I'm looking for a 3.2 Coupe.

I've been searching for a Ferrari everyday since February and have narrowed it to a Coupe during the past 3 months. I've traveled to look at several 3x8 cars and all except one of them needed some body work or rust repairs, which is a no-go for me. I've looked into numerous Cabs and if I wanted a two to three year "Ferrari Experience" several of them could be good candidates. But I'm looking for a keeper so it has to be a 3.2 Coupe. Also, the more time I spend looking the more I realized that a Mondial suit my needs and lifestyle to a T (no puns, don't want a 3.4 T).

If a Mondial (of any type) is listed on the internet you can pretty much guarantee that I'm aware of it. According to the November 2006 issue of Forza there were more Coupes made then Cabs (987 to 810). So where are all of the Coupes?

My offer is to someone who can act as a buyer on my behalf, a Broker to some extent. Someone who's seen the car I want, spoke with the owner, viewed the records, took some pictures and test drove it. This is a thousand dollars that I'm willing to pay and I'm giving someone another reason to go out and look at a Ferrari. For me, that can always make my day :)

I have owned a T-cab, a coupe ( 360) and 3 GTS's. I think you will regret getting a coupe ( Cali resident?). The car above is also great looking. I would offer in the $42K range and enjoy.

Thanks Simon, that is a really nice Cab! And you can't go wrong with a car from Michael Sheehan. But for that price range there are some sweet 328s or 348s to consider too.

No, I need to keep it simple and on track.

I'm in the Florida Panhandle which gets more then its share of thundershowers and recently sold the TR8 convertible that I owned for 24 years. Seems like every time I drove it I'd have to pull over to raise the manual top. The car I buy will probably get at least 5000 miles a year and I'm not too sure a Cab top will handle that kind of exercise. Or will it? Having owned a Mondial 8 for almost 7 years I really enjoyed the open-air feeling those big windows and sunroof gives you, so it’s a great alternative.

The first one, the 87 black/red mondial cab, is a very nice car. I called the dealer, Rich, and was semi-serious, but decided against a mondial.

This one (87 Red/Black) has a new clutch but the belt service is old. Price is very good for that car though. Carfax checks out, no major damage reported and the mileage looks right.

However, this thread was for a coupe, so this one is a no-go.

Someone else in Colorado was looking at it, it should be a good deal for someone.

Caveat: I have not seen the car, just talked to the dealer and got pictures.

Just saw the ad on Steve Harris (Salt Lake). Never seen the car, but just figured I would pass it along.

    http://tinyurl.com/knwaa

    or

http://www.ferrarisales.com/ then look under Ferrari used

Doesnt meet your color choice nor year, but it is a coupe.
