Saw this on USA Today... SEOUL (AP) Formula One, in another step into new markets, will begin racing in South Korea in 2010. A seven-year agreement was signed Monday by Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone and provincial governor Park Joon-young. A 3.4-mile track in the province of South Jeolla is to be completed by 2009, the newly created Korean Auto Valley Operation said. Once completed, the circuit must be approved by auto racing's governing body. A 1996 bid to land a Formula One race in South Korea was aborted because a race site was never developed. The announcement of the latest venue came a day after Michael Schumacher won the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai. Races in China, Bahrain and Turkey have been added to the F1 schedule in recent seasons. Copyright 2006 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
