Some of them are an inspiraton to you, while a few others are just likely full of sh*t, and consider the matchbox F430 in the floorboard of their 87 maxima to be representative of being a Ferrari Owner. This is true in many forums. Have seen it with the NSX crowd a number of times, and if it happens with that level of car (which is an exotic and a great car in my book, but certainly does not carry the name-dropping cachet of the Ferrari brand), it certainly happens here. Not in any way disrespecting the forum or those here, just a reality check.
12 years old??? Wow! I thought I was young at 23 years old. I should have bought mine sooner I do get ppl telling me I still look 17 - 18.
Not every young person is BS on this thread! I'm 23 I do have an f430 coming in. Just bought it and it will be here in a few days now. cannot wait!! ahaha : ) Here's the timeline of my cars. 18 years old-1993 Supra Turbo 18 Years old- 1994 300zx Turbo 19 Years old- 2002 EB z06 (sold) 20 Years Old- 2003 Viper Srt 21 Years Old- E46 M3 smg 22 years Old - 2006 EB Zo6 (sold) 23 years Old- Red/tan F430 (almost bought a murcie roadster) Next car maybe an lp640 My cars were all paid in full at time of purchase.
I guy a I know from Faaborg here in Denmark has a brand new 430 Coupe, and he is 21. Pretty neat. And he earned the money himself, by being clever. He somehow had an inside scoop at the danish police force, because he found out that all danish police cruisers had to get new police scanners, so he patented the right to import them into Denmark. And we all know that Ferrari's here cost 3 times as much as in the US.
I am 51 (just) and will get my F360 in a couple of weeks. I had a 69GTO in high school much modified that was faster to 150 than a lot of Ferraris. I am lucky I lived. I have been able to afford a Ferrari for a long time but just couldn't make myself pull the trigger. Finally I just said screw and am going to make the plunge. If you are lucky enough to own what you want young, good for you. Me, I had to wait. But, I did hurry. High performance toys of any kind will kill you. At any age. They required a little judgement.
What in the world do you do? 18 here, just started investing in stocks and such, but nowhere near enough $ to get an F-car quite yet. Mike
Im only 18 (19 in 20 minutes), and not yet an onwer unfortunately... give me a few years . However A family friend of ours from Los Angeles who is in the music industry is a proud owner of an Enzo, 360 Spider, Murcie and Carrera GT (for sale). He is only 26. Wouldnt that be nice? Haha
Nope. Not Cody. I have had the pleasure of meeting him through my friend though. Not his enzo though :-( haha
That's a beautiful color on your F430. Obviously with a past history with the dealer, no mark up as you were already on a list to purchase? Any delays?
Thank you. Correct, no markup. I was actually waiting on a 430 Spider, but that was delayed by a few months, therefore I was offered the chance to purchase my 430 coupe. The only downside to it was that I would have to push my Spider order back by about a year, which I had no problems with because I wouldn't have gotten it until around Aug and only been able to drive it for a couple of months before winter. I should be getting my Spider in the Spring and will sell my coupe when I do.
WOW, hit the nail on the head!! My sentiments exactly, my oldest daughter is a car nut, but I have tryed to impress upon her that it took me till 39 to buy my first Ferrari (my new to me 2003 360), she understands that it takes personal effort and achivement to attain the good things in life. She really digs the car, so I hope I have set an example for her to follow/beat. I started with a lousy 1979 Mazda 626 4 door with 298,000 miles on it as my first car, and finally getting to own one of my dreams (waiting to hit the Lotto so I can afford an Enzo LOL).
I was 34 when I bought my 355 F1 and 41 when I bought my 360M. Not Daddy's money....all my hard earned!
I got a porsche at 35 and a 360 last week. I am 37 now. Maybe I need time to get a 430 but it seemed too much money for me now even though I can buy in cash one quite a few times over. I guess I have a rainy day mentality and at 37 I hopefully still have lots of years left on earth. As for the kids I applaud the ones who are self made and buy an F car. The ones who get it from dad, well good luck and I hope you can still be a rounded human being even though you are being spoilt.
