    Hi Douglas
New to the forum and not from Singapore (visited many times though). I'm NZ and own a couple of Ferrari one of which is a 355 Challenge. I am keen on finding out the history of my 355 Challenge if anyone out there can help? Maranello have advised me that the 355 with assy #21881 is a genuine Challenge and one of the few RHD manufactured. It was originally delivered to the UK in 1996 and was imported into NZ from Singapore in 2001. I am presuming it competed in the Asian area at some stage.
    Any history would be appreciated.

    Bernard,
If it originally came from Singapore. I think the local agent here Hong Seh would have the details. Give them a call.
BTW which part of NZ you from?

No, I'm a beginner, some chatters here have better collection. I collect a lot of junks since young & built lots of model kits, come to think of it I still have some boxed kits sealed for more than 10yrs now :(

The really good ones are those limited edition 1/43 BBRs etc but they're easily S$400+ each.

From the paris car show ....

A fine example is the new Alfa Romeo flagship unveiled here in Paris today, the much-anticipated 8C Competizione. After finally seeing this two-seat sports car in the flesh, we can confirm that the production model is an Italian knockout dressed in red - red-painted carbon fiber, that is. And with a 90 degree 4.7-liter V8 engine cramming 450 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque through a paddle shifter-controlled six-speed transaxle to the rear wheels, Alfa's claim of a 0-100 kph (0 to 62 mph) acceleration time "under 4.2 seconds" is utterly believable.

But the even bigger news, delivered by Alfa Romeo Executive Vice President Antonio Baravalle himself, was confirmation that the 8C will in fact be coming to the United States. When we asked Mr. Baravalle when we could expect the Competizione to hit US shores, he enthused, "You can order this car after the show," but went on to explain that US deliveries won't occur until early 2008 - about 20 months from now, but leapfrogging Alfa's reported late 2009 "full line" return by almost two years.

Only 500 examples of the 8C Compitizione are scheduled to be built for worldwide consumptzione, so if you want one, be ready to put your order in early, wait patiently, and expect to pay something north of $200 grand.

    why ? any reason ?

Could it be because SLs are a bit of an old man's car ?

any idea how much it would cost to buy a Ferrari F430 4.3 in singapore?
    price of car + coe.

    1) first hand
    2) second hand

just so that i can get a feel of whether it's more cost effective to get a 2nd hand.

    thanks :)

New is about S$800K with some spare change to pay for insurance etc. Maybe even enough to sign up for a Pilota course! Might have to wait for a year+/- for your turn to get car even after deposit. Very few used & probably S$650K+/-, colour & options may not be what you like. When you have that kind of $, might as well pay more, wait a while & spec what you like. Of course it'll be fresh & new as well. It's like waiting for your baby.

Not sure but I guess it's good to have regulars in business & what's better than having wealthy clients who can network other opportunities?

Come to think of it, I haven't even sat in one current SL. Perhaps I had enough of the brand or maybe an old man trying to feel young.

Price has gone up. Was advertised for $88k for a long time. Ben at HS says it is quite good. Not sure I like the painted bumpers and sills. Make the car look to tall and chunky. Much nicer with the sills black and original bumpers or take it to the other end of the spectrum and add sills/splitter to make car look lower.

Now there are only 2 Mondial coupes, 1 Cabriolet and 1 mold (sorry Clive) in Singapore or so I am led to believe.

Still by far the most practical Ferrari if you need to justify one to your wife.

Hey FF, that looks like a stock car to me except painted bumpers & mirrors+348 wheels; not the T bumpers. A friend told me they don't fit, different mounting points. Someone should buy that cabriolet. Just 826 RHD ever built for a MondialQV, quite rare by Ferrari standard if you can live with the shape. I've run out of dole for it :(

Many owners track Mondials regularly overseas.

AutoCulture has a 3.2 in their garage but cannot be registered here now since it was'nt a local car.

the mondials remind me of "Back to the Future" somehow.

so the reason being a ferrari getg to your hand +- a year is cuz the only make when you order?? or?
