Can someone tell me how you remove the the headrest off the seats of the 92 - 348. I have tried pulling and removing the back cover to look for a pin of sorts, etc... with no success - it there special trick (short of taking a big hammer?)

Good luck on getting a response. I have posted similar thread regarding tightening up a head rest and no responses. Worth a retry though.

Hello Franck & Gregory, Just went a had a good look at my 348 mate and from my findings I believe that the only way to remove the headrest would be to un-stitch the back of the seat and have a good look in there, usally if they are removable there would be a push button on one of the headrest guides that you depress and fully remove the headrest. Ours seem to pull out to a certain position and then lock solid. Hope I didn't burst your bubble :D

Just curious, why do you want to remove yours?

Nothing is mentioned in the Ferrari literature except the parts (#5 in picture below) labeled "Bush."

I've had my seats out a couple of times, and I thought that I just lifted the headrests straight up (perfectly straight up) to get them out...but it's been a while and I may be thinking of taking them off of a different car.

Yeah ND you must be thinking of another car as I tried to remove mine yesterday and I had no chance, mind you my seats were still fitted to the car floor pan but I am no split pin and they wouldn't budge for me :p

There's gotta be an internal pin or something. I tried to remove mine once and no go. The rear panel on the seat is removeable. I bet there is some release inside. They have to come off some how.

My headrest is a little loose moving forward/back. Up/down is fine. I just want to know if there is a way to tighten the back/forward motion.

OK, I went out to my garage and pulled my passenger side headrest out of my 348 Spider.

It's easy. First, you must raise your headrest all of the way up and then pry your two black bushes upward until they are both out of the seat.

I just used a flat blade screwdriver. No problem.

Next, you've got to wiggle the headrest just a bit so that the forward-facing notches on the two metal headrest posts are pushed back away from the two headrest-post latches in the seat, and as they are no longer blocked by the latches you can simultaneously lift your headrest up and out of your seat.

The only way that this works is for the bushes to first be raised up and out of the way. When they are up/out of the seat, then your two metal posts will have "wiggle" room. That will let you get around the latches.

    Picture below.

    Ha!

Yup. Already done. Goes back in far easier than it comes out, and it has a great, secure latch-like "click" sound that rewards you for your trouble.
