If Alonso wins today (guys, keep your heads up, still laps left), he just needs to get 1 point in Brazil only IF Michael wins. If Michael doesn't win, FA doesn't have to score.

*note* This race is NOT over. Stop giving up!!!

MS has to win and FA has to not score any points for MS to win the title in Brazil. They would be even in points at that point but MS would be leading with one more race win.

That's how he got it last year. But FA does put himself into the best position to capitalize on luck.

    UNBELIEVABLE!

Can you imagine being the guy who is discovered to have let that happen? Once they figure out what happened, they will be able to tell who at the factory should have known and prevented it. That guy will be forever shamed.

IMO its most likely over for MS this year. 8 laps to, Alonso way in front. And its quite doubtful that MS will win and Alonso will be out in Brazil. All Ferdi has to do is score a single point.

Just unbelievable. So sad for Micheal and Ferrari and everyone. Tragic!

hey Brian - here's your answer

If FA wins today then he has to have a single point in Brazil to clinch the DC.

But . . . wonder what the final chapter will be ???

Given FA wins the DC, I really hope he knows he was gifted this title. But, we all know he's going to be celebrating like his skill took MS out.

If there is ANY doubt that MS is a TRUE champion, replay the video of him going into the pits. ANY other driver would throw his helmet and have a fit. What does Micheal do? He goes around and consoles his team and shakes their hands. Not just Todt and Brawn, but ALL the guys - from the fuel rig guy to the errand boy.

    THAT is a TRUE champion!

I don't give a crap if Fernando ends up winning this world title, because the guy in red is the true champion.

But I will say, it was very sad seeing the look on his face and him thanking his crew. I hate to see someone go out like this. :(

I think Schumi is realy starting to think about his legacy. Obviously he wants to win it all in his last season- but no one doubts his ability, however people have doubted his character and sportsmanship. I think going out a good guy is equally if not more important to him. Just my $.02

    So you're saying Alonso isn't a great driver ?

I'd say most of us here consider MS a great driver - if not the greatest, but I would also bet most of us here also realize Alonso is also a great driver. He may be a dickkhead personality-wise, but he's still a great driver.
