I agree and don't think it will be called a Dino.

Good idea, I think we should start moving the project forward, just like you said, by deciding the various design ideas proposed, I feel we've all done the all sketching needed..:)....and no more new stuff is being shown by the new entrants.

Michiel is in charge of this project, so it's his decision on how he wants to move next.

    Will wait for news

Well, something new is being shown...but do you have any rough sketches of your design to show us?, at least we get a glimpse of the final shape.

It can all be ofcourse false information, however, two days ago I was speaking to the VP of sales and marketing of Ferrari Qatar who had just returned from Italy and he told me that they were unofficially told that a new small Ferrari will be produced for next year and it's a done deal.

I know this story might be true, but this has nothing to do with this Dino-project.
It can be very distracting and I'd like to stay focussed on our new Dino the way WE like this car to see.
I don't care what Ferrari is doing, we're doing an Fchat-Dino.

I did a drawing that weekend, that I called "Dino Ghost"... the sensation when seeing a ghost . . . . a fright. . . . fear. . . . . but at the same time curiosity about his history.

that is the essence. . . . the spirit

Michiel, I understand that you will be very busy in the near future, so maybe ,to move things a little faster, why not all of us present, our best 3 designs, and have a poll vote the best design presented by each of us.

It will narrow it down to one best design by each designer, after that we need a poll for the 3 best designs, that will make it to the 3D phase.

    Basically two polls,

first phase: vote the best design of each desgner that presented a sketch or rendering.
Second phase: vote the 3 best designs of the first phase

Just an idea, what do you all think?

Michiel, you need to decide how the poll would work and the various phases.

    Ciao

Nice rendering and design, but the Dino is about sensual curves and thinking about a beautifull woman, the beauty of feel and touch.....someone would call it sex on wheels,........ not being afraid!!

Check earlier posts for the ethos of the Fchat Dino, it was discussed earlier in the process, on what design direction to take, and aggressiveness was toned down and replaced by a more sensual approach.

Post some of your sketches and various design ideas on this theme.

In 2002 we made a work together with the pininfarina studio, and there I take some pictures of a Dino that apparently never to be produced. . . . I don't remember of the history but the personnel there had a very big admiration for her. . . .

I don't know if thats help or it disturbs, but. . . for curiosity I am placing some images:

well... honestly, no i don't have any sketches... i guess i could try to make some. i tend to work out of my mind as it's easier for me to think in 3D than to try to translate it to 2D.

*edit: the more i think about this and it developes in my mind, i REALLY don't think the idea i've got is viable as a Ferrari-esque design. it just doesn't have the flow, the artistry to it, that i think of when i think "Ferrari". perhaps i will have to withdraw that and begin again. i should have more free time soon, so hopefully i can get something quickly. this time, i'll try to start with a few sketches.

    Very nice!
I feel flattered, but we should all be proud of this project.

Ok, I'll run through the full thread again and make a summary of what I think the Dino should be.
From there on we'll stop sketching ( sorry Fuoriserie ;) ) and start the next phase based on the given chassis.

Just one thing about the Dino GTO:

The idea is quite nice, but the GTO and the Dino were totally different cars historically. Therefore I wouldn`t mix them in a new design.

A new Dino should definitely be identified as a Dino, but also be a "future design" and not be overwhelmed by too many retro elements.

Well, all good things need to cone to an end.:), but I agree with you.

Why not use for the final designs, Velocityengineer's CAD images to present the final shape of each design project.
It will give each designer a set view, and have each designer on an even footing, to develop the final design without fudging on proportions or other....

We will be sure that the proportions are right and fits the given chassis, I think he has done most views, only a front 3/4 view would be missing in the CAD files.

These are the one that could be used, but maybe others could be added.

Will wait for your review and decision.

The technical illustration for the top view rendering, i think we just need the front 3/4 view image, and then we can start the final design.

I think it will be easier for you and all of us to develop the final design, using the CAD images posted by Velocityengineer, earlier in this thread.

Just download them and use those, it will make your and our new designs believable.

Get ready for the final phase, and hope a lot of you guys join! see you later....

    Hello.

Sorry for drop in like this, but can the chassis images be posted using some perspective?

Not talking about the side view, but a front and a rear view with perspective is needed, no???

    Thanks.

That is true, it would help also to have a front and rear view perspective.

In case we can't get one, you could also create both views, by scaling up this image

personally, my favorite sketch was Ernesto's one from way back... i think it does a good job of integrating current ferrari design cues with the simple lines of the original Dino... but that's just my opinion.
