Sometime in the next couple of months, the pair of 599's will be entering the North American segment of the 20,000Km tour. While the 599's are not supposed to stop in the Tallahassee area on thier way to Miami, it would be nice to know when they will be traveling through (on I-10) so we caravan along with them for part of the trip.

Is there any website offering the details of exactly where they are supposed to be on a day-to-day basis?

It would be pretty cool to start a photo log of FerrariChat member encounters with the 599's.

    Any throughts?

They will be here in SC (Darlington Intl Speedway) on Monday November 6th. We will have a caravan leading them in on 95. Then it's off to Richmond, VA. I can't wait!

How do you know that for sure? Just trying to back up when they'll be in LA. I'm thinking that they'll be here maybe the weekend of the 21st then?

From the link above, we'll need to post pics when they reach LA and then as the cross through the US. I'll definitely be following thier progress and planning a day off for when they cross the Florida panhandle.

I e-mailed one of Los Angeles Ferrari Club top dogs about the 599 tour's stop in L.A. and his reply was to "call Auto Gallery, they might know."

With all due respect to how tough it may be to be a club rep when you also have a (presumably very busy) real job, how come you guys in the Vegas FCA are so hooked up (as you should be), and the largest Ferrari market in the world (as a single city) seems to be totally in the dark?

There's a planned event in South Carolina? At the Darlington race track?!!!

Great, but WHAT THE HELL?!!! Los Angeles? Hello?!!!

I visited the posted sites, but couldn't find specific dates (for New Orleans, in particular). Anyone "in the know," please keep this thread updated on specific dates. Thanks.

This is a media only thing and that's why we're not hearing much about it. I spoke to a journalist guy today that was wearing a jacket for the PanAmerican 20,000 and he was able to do a leg of it. He said he'd e-mail me the exact LA dates and I'll post it.

Yes, it's a press/publicity stunt and auto journalists are indeed the people driving the 599's on specified legs of the tour. So for the drivers of the cars, it is "media only."

But, as you can see, other FCA chapters have organized, planned activities in their cities in conjunction and in cooperation with FNA on this event and I just want to know why So Cal, of all places, seems to be totally in the dark.

Yea, it seems like they are missing the boat. This tour is bringing a bit of Maranello to LA and they could gain a lot of yards capitalizing on that. Obviously they've chosen to keep the thing on the QT. Kinda strange. And what seems stupid is that it's almost here and we still have to guess the arrival dates. The guy thought around the 25th or so.(weird, they're in Vegas on the 26th) Maybe they'll just cruise through at night ;)

Guys, this is not a media only event... I would call it media oriented and the problem with it is that the dealers have had nothing to do with it. What I know is that it has been organized with the Italian embassies of the countries that will be touched and Ferrari of course.

I'm a colse friend with the local dealer and have been a witness of his great efforts to do tomorrow's meeting. One of the biggest obstacles we had was that they are scheduled to stay overnight in San Miguel, our second biggest city but still a "pueblo" I might say and not San Salvador... the capital city where the dealer just opened its doors of a beautiful showroom some months ago and already have three Ferrari F-430 on the road and a fourth one on the way plus a dozen Maserati some QP's, GS's and one Coupe Cambiocorsa (mine). So the cars will spend the night in a town that most everybody will expect to see small green creatures driving them :D Tomorrow they'll drive to Guatemala stopping only for lunch with us but they'll be greeted by a fleet of other Italian masterpieces and taken to the dealership for a couple of hours.

If you want to have some kind of event in LA I would suggest you contact the Italian consulate and ask for information on when they will be in town... they should know. I bet the media would love pictures of the two 599 leading a welcome pack of at least 50 F cars... there's still plenty of time to organize it, you guys can put it together by then.

You can check their progress here:

I'll be back on Monday with some pictures of our event.

Considering the closeness of the dates between cities, I guessing they are driving through the night. Probably the best way to follow this is to stay close to F-chat. I know for those here in the Florida panhandle, we'll be watching info about the cars leaving New Orleans.

I can't wait to see the first pics posted...

They completely forgot about us in the Pacific North West.
They have some great wallpaper shots there.

Thanks for asking. It's the "PanAmerican 20,000 Stealth Tour!" :) I guess F feels that hyping the cars with journalists is better mileage for them than getting owners/enthusiasts involved.

Thanks for the pics, nice Latin babes ;) The cars look in pretty good shape. They must be giving them the full detail including paint touch ups as they go. Looks like a great event.

Anyone can access it. It's a crude map that shows roughly where they are with no indication of when they'll be at future locations.
