Tony - I have one correction to your finishing order - NR needs to be inserted in spot #7. Here's another senario - the Renault engine goes kabloom in practice or better yet qualifying. I sure wish Ron Dennis would put Hamilton in the race seat for Brazil - as long as I'm wishing, I'd like to see Vettel there too. Carol
I hate when people do that crap. They should give to charity, they are doing it for so and so, ect. Just sounds like they are envious of what these people accomplished with lots of patience, hard work, and some struggle along the way.
it's not for aero, altho it does look like an aero thing, IMO. it's for cooling the rear brakes, as Ferrari claims. look properly, you'll spot something similiar on the toyotas and Toro Rossos.
i still don't get it. why was FA trying his best to celebrate like MS? 1st, it was that jumping over the parc ferme fance and hugging his crew, when just a few days ago, he made some silly claims about his team. 2nd, that silly jump stunt he did on the podium. what in God's name was he trying to prove? ' hey look, i'm the new MS...hows my jump? ' Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wait, what? I'm not sure what you're saying you hate. You hate when people say others should donate or you hate it when people say they can do whatever they want with their money?
LoL. i'm confused now too. whatever it is, MS's 10 mil was a huge amount. that tsunami thing that hit Asia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and India was really bad. lucky thing it wasn't that bad here in Malaysia. ( it struck up north side ). many fishermen lost their families, boats, houses. it was very generous for MS to donate.
LOL Sorry was on a rant, so my mind was moving quicker than my fingers. I meant to say I hate it when people judge or criticize over what people do with their money and charity. If they make a donation, they get judged for their motives. If they don't donate, they get criticized for not giving money. If they do, but keep it private, they get criticized (Like Bill Gates did and told Larry King that "I've given away more money than you'll make in a lifetime."-Not a word-to-word quote). Hell, Warren Buffett is getting criticized for his donation by a small few because it's a tax avoidance, leaving the bulk of his fortune to one foundation, ect. So, to answer your question, I hate it when people think others should donate, and when they do/don't, question what their motives are.
Ah okay. I personally dont' care if someone burns their money than donate it. That might be a bit extreme, but I do have problems with people telling me what to do on my dime. I do donate, both monetarily and with my time, but I pursue these on my own.
Same as my feelings. I just didn't focus on the burn through money part since the response was in regards to Schmi's motives.
This thread has degenerated to discussing everything but the race... I do not blame anyone. After watching the race again today up to the point of the engine blow up I felt like crying and I am a grown man. So how much do you think that the blowup happened because of the pending engine freeze and Ferrari tweaked the engine enough for it to be competitive in the next year? There by taking a chance with these last two races but being very strong next year.
You want to knock out an italian?!! OK, I will give you #7 for Nico But Scott Speed stays! We need a homie in F1
A homie, maybe -- but "little surver hurl"? This is what we have to represent the US? Like totally, dude! As long as we're in "daydream" mode: Imagine, if you will ... (Insert "Twilight Zone" music) Since both Renault and Ferrari have agreed to ignore the "no team orders" rule: What if: Massa had immediately pulled over and let Schumi jump into the #6 car? In Massa's seat, with Massa's car setup, could Schumi have held off Fisi to finish second? It wouldn't have changed the makes points, but Schumi would only be two points adrift in the WDC with number of wins tied. Then we'd have had a winner-takes-all race in Brazil. Alonso wins, he takes the championship, Schumi wins -- even with Alonso in second, the points would be tied, but Schumi would win on number of wins. But .... Would Schumi get a ten spot penalty for an "engine change" in Japan? Discuss.
Good one! I do not know if an engine change during a race counts He may get a 10 spot penalty but we know MS would have a fighting chance in Brazil. Somehow, with this crazy and exciting season I still have hope (albeit not a whole lot ). It has been an amazing come back so let's hope for the best !
Does anyone happen to have a downloadable recording of the race, I missed it and it is driving me absolutely insane!
I agree, this forum is getting very repetative with most threads denigrating to the usual bickering about F1 vs NASCAR / Schumacher vs history. I think the mods should be more aggressive about keeping topics focused. ================ About Japan 06: Shame for Schumacher, he did what he needed to do, but sometimes things just blow up. Credit to Alonso who did a great job of getting into position to take full advantage. He is Prost-like in his ability to always find his way to the front. I still don't care for his off-track talk, but on track damn does he deliver. Ferrari muffed Massas strategy fueling him up so much, but it really wouldn't have made any difference. The only other important piece is what an awful shame it is to be loosing Suzuka, which is a jewel of a track. I don't know Fuji but it will have to be pretty spectacular for this to not be a gutting loss for F1.
