    Seriously doubt it. Interesting that the rear view mirrors are digital though. I also don't believe the F60, or whatever the replacement will be called, will be a Veyron killer..

    That's the "Ascari", a student design model for a contest by Ferrari and Pininfarina. It's my favorite design from the contest. Wouldn't mind seeing one built for real.

    You're thinking of the Ascari as the brand name for the KZ-1. This Ascari is the model's name.

    Why would it be odd? Alberto Ascari was the one of the greatest Ferrari F1 drivers. I'm surprised Ferrari haven't used his name on a car already.

    Ascari, the car brand, was named in honor of Alberto Ascari.

    If Ferrari ever does a remake of the F40 - something with absolutely no safety features whatsoever - they should call is the Nuvolari or the Ferrari Tazio or something like that... Something that only the truly fearless could competently pilot...

    It's odd because the name has already been used. It should be something original and unique to Ferrari.

    The name's used currently by a very small car maker with no connection with Ferrari. So what?

    It's highly appropiate if Ferrari use the name for a future car, given the Alberto Ascari's association with Ferrari. The design students obviously know the names of the people and places significant to Ferrari's rich history and used one for their model. They ought to be applauded for that.

    Let's look at a few car names used by Ferrari:

    550 Maranello
    360 Modena
    612 Scaglietti
    Enzo
    599 GTB Fiorano

    Is it a big leap, given the list above, to use "Ascari" on a Ferrari? I don't think so.

    Ya I think it still is kind of a big leap and it doesnt really make sense. None the less, we are just commenting on something that may never happen...so what does it matter?

    how about a ferrari 10-20 years from now...the "Ferrari Shcumacher" :)

    Hmmm...still a big leap? Not make sense?! I guess I don't know how your mind work.

    Ferrari already used "Enzo" so why not start using the names of their famous drivers and champions. Perfectly logical to me.

    I have the same picture you posted but larger.

    I don't know why, but I find it doubtful Ferrari will go purely after the Veyron. They didn't go after the Mclaren. Top speed isn't as important as the balance of the car to them.

    I'm pretty sure we still got a long way to go to see the replacement for the Enzo. I'm thinking 2011. That's 8 years from the Enzo. 16 years from the F50, and 24 years from the F40. Just a thought.

    In short, in my humble opinion, I find it a bit too early to speculate on. But please, keep the ball rolling. I'm just voicing an opinion.
