Hi there and greetings to all of you. I've been a long long long time lurker of Ferrarichat, and must say first off, thanks to Rob for a fantastic forum and for the members for their encyclopediac knowledge and willingness to share to others. Secondly, this is my first post ever, (be kind, and sorry if i'm long winded; it's my nature..) and thought it fitting to say that I *finally* have joined the ranks as an owner of a beautiful 87 328 GTS. (courtesy of Huskerbill of this forum). After what seemed like aeons of research on the 3x8 series and the countless hours reviewing sane buying processes, i've finally obtained "just the right car" in "completely the wrong way". (bought sight unseen via ebay no PPI). However, it turns out my choice was a great one, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Huskerbill is an honourable, and venerable person that answered every concievable question I had (and more) and so I made the right decision: The car is/was better than described.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to Huskerbill for selling me this wonderful car, and to you all the FerraiChat community that helped me with my long search. A dream was fulfilled yesterday as the car carrier unloaded a sublime beauty and I got to drive, touch, smell and do that cliche sounding.. Ferrari experience.. I lurk no more! :) More to come, as I'm sure there's more questions I'll have. Thanks again all and sorry again for the long post.. Cheers!

Thanks all for the welcomes! Sorry I was away for the holiday... I know there's a 6 post limit for OP's to respond.. ;)

Anyway will try and upload some pics soon.. I am still in awe, the wife isn't jealous.. (yet).. but I feel like I check on it an awful lot.. (just one more look before bed etc..)..

I know it's just a car.. but yet.. it's a dream fulfilled too, so that how I rationalize.. if that even makes sense.. :)

    Glad you are loving it!!!

I am a little sad, but with the big move coming up, I have SO much going on to take my mind off my empty garage!! ;-)

I have been having Testarossas on my mind for so long, I just had to do it. I move into my place in San Jose on Sunday and will begin the hunt for the TR on Monday. This guy got himself a 3 car garage though, so there will be plenty of room....... ;-)

Hopefully, I will get one that runs as well as the 328 did. Everyone in the club is telling me you can't buy two well mannered Ferraris in a row and that the TR will be a LEMON!!!

Drive it in health and happiness. That car has a knack for putting smiles on faces and running with "good company".........

    ;-)

    Welcome! Great car!
I can truly say that without the community on this board my Fcar experience would have been significantly scarier. Some VERY knowledgable people here; the real deal.

Hi folks, sorry for the delay.... okay I get the message, here's some pics of the car being offloaded and a very very happy Mark.. :)

I was not only just stunned by the "wow" factore, but that it almost looked like it was gonna fall off the truck!

It was pouring rain the entire time as well, but it didn't diminish the joy one bit... :)

And that's right, 6' 6" crammed into that drivers seat baby!! worth the squeeze, but had to take off the shoes!

thanks folks, yea, i gotta see about one of those carbon fiber roofs, supposed to get another 1" of headroom.. I can hunker down pretty far, and with shoes off (gotta find a decent pair of driving shoes), i convince myself that i'm comfy.. ;) First gear and reverse are a bit rough though, thigh + shifter+ steeringwheel all in the same spot makes it tough going at low speeds / takeoff.. but once i'm moving, everything, not just the leg says "ahhhh!" :)

seeing these pics flashed me back to delivery day.. still got some chills.. if it wasn't close enough to touch right now, I'd still think it was a dream :)

I have to say Mark, I have been in California for a month now and there has been maybe TWO days where I have told my wife that I wish I hadn't sold that car!!! Seriously. I am deep in the hunt for a Testarossa and very well could be flying out this weekend to see one. But, I honestly can't say that I have seen a car out here that I like any more than that 328. There was just something REALLY cool about it.

Anyway, I have been looking at a few Testarossas and they have all been red. My wife put her foot down a few days ago and said, "You are NOT buying a red Testarossa. You are getting a black and tan one just like your 328!!" And that was that. So I found one today meeting the requirements and called on it. It just may be the one. Now I just have to find someone out here who can paint the wheels as well as Greg does in Dubuque, Iowa!! I may just end up sending them to him.......
