I was looking through cars.com and came across a 308 QV, white that has a boxer paint scheme. I thought this was only an option on older cars, not the QV's. Am I incorrect? What years were this paint option available on the 308?

There was a white boxer scheme 308 QV for sale in Chicago for a long time, and I believe it was a factory paint job -- I think it had the boxer option on the window sticker, although that was a year ago so I may be mistaken.

Spike308 (Mike Z.) on FChat would know as he saw the car at Lake Forest. You might PM him because there's a chance you're looking at the same car - very rare colors.

It was an option on the 2V injected cars for sure. I know it was in 1980 because the car featured in R&T's first article on the injected series had it. I have always felt the option was dropped by 82 and was never used on the QV's.

    Anyone else...?

It had a black interior and bounced around among a few midwestern dealers before it sold. IIRC the odometer showed 23K or so.

Mine's boxer trim....sort of. It looks like boxer trim but it's really a top only repaint on an originally Nero car. I pretty much knew this but not for sure until I got the Heritage Certificate.

The easiest way is to ask to see the window sticker, if that is available from the seller.

You could also get the VIN and check with David Pigg, sales guy at Lake Forest Sports Cars near Chicago (if he still works there), to see if they remember the car or have any records on it.
