    Hi all,

I've seen an item I'd like to buy on Ebay. Usually I have good experiences with bidding or "Buy It Now" options but this one's new to me. It has a button for "Imediate Payment Required". Only after you pay first you have won the item. This sounds risky to me. It's possible that someone else completes his payment quicker than me. Does that mean I lose my money? It's a bit confusing and the Ebay explanation is not very helpful. Any info or experiences or advice appreciated! Thanks.

Is the "immediate payment required" via eBay/PayPal? If not, then I wouldn't risk it. Do you have a link to the item?

Paypal is possible. The Ebay item number is: 250013773517

I've decided not to buy it. Too many red flags. Why is it so cheap? It usually sells for about 900 euro, not 90 euro (shipment included). I also noticed a question was asked some five weeks ago which means it's been at least five weeks fup or sale (didn't know this was possible on Ebay). So why hasn't anybody snapped up this item? It looks too good to be true.

In any case I would love to hear from bidders who have used this "immediate payment" system. Is there a risk that you pay and still don't win the item?

I've bought maybe 10 inexpensive...$5 to $100...items with "Buy It Now" and never had a problem. The way I understand it, that option immediately enters you in the system as the buyer and the item is taken off.

I always pay for ebay purchases immediately, with paypal, never had a problem.

I've never had a problem either, the most expensive thing I have bought is a $200 camera, most things were $10-$50.

My only stipulation when I buy something is I want an address - not a PO Box. If they don't give a street address, I don't buy.

my wife has probably bought 200 items through ebay over the years. She has purchased everything from trinckets to artwork to a car for our daughter. If you pay by paypal, they will stand behind not only receiving the item, but it being as represented. In one instance, my wife purchased a purse for $400 that turned out to be a high-quality knock-off. PayPal/Ebay got her money back within a few days.

my cousin was buying a superbike off of ebay, he watched that auction to the last second and everything was advertised as a real superbike, for 1700 dollars and 200 for shipping anywhere in the US, and after debating over and over and asking the seller 9 million questions, he bid on it and won for 1800...he waited about 3 weeks and ended up getting a MINI bike, those little 45 or 110 cc bikes...it wasn't evne the 110 it was the 45...he notified ebay and told them about the scam, they did they're investigation and kicked the seller off of ebay, and gave my cousin back 2000 dollars, and told him that ur insured up to 2000 dollars with ebay/paypal...
