    When I was there, they wanted $250,000.00 U.S. for a used 355...
Were you able to get into the big garage in the back? They have tons more cars in there.

I think a few prices are a little exaggerated. I would get a SLR in Europe for much less, also a 360 CS. These are the prices I am familiar with, the others I can't really judge.

OMG the prices are too high you can buy 2 CS with 440k and they just sell you one.
But maybe the prices to import a car like that are too high...

Does Malaysia have some kind of rule against privately importing cars from Europe? Seems to me for those prices I would go FAR out of my way to get the car elsewhere.

I worked in factories in Malaysia and Thailand for months at a time, been to that dealership two or three times (and also have tons of pictures). The prices seem about right. In fact, the Enzo sounds cheap. There is a 300% (triple) tax for non Proton (Malaysian brand) cars. A new F430 goes for 20 million Baht in Thailand ($500,000.00 U.S.). The service bay at Ferrari of Bangkok is the largest I have ever seen! I'll try to dig up a picture.

Thanks for the pics Des. Was the blue 456GT still there, or did that not make the cut for the showroom since it was worth less than USD$200,000?

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. I was not aware that the CLK-DTM was available as a regular car. How close is it to the racing version?

Yes it does. CBU (Complete Build Up) imported cars has to have an AP (Approval Permit) to be imported and have to pay excise duty and import duty. The import duty for ASEAN cars are much lower compared to non ASEAN cars (thanks to the Asean Free Trade Agreement, AFTA) and cars imported from other countries would have to pay a plus minus USD10k for the AP, a certain percentage of the car's value for excise duty and also 100-200% for import duty.

Thats why the prices here in Malaysia is madness for a third world country like us...

    Alan,

nah... am not one but have seen a lot of nicer pics than what i took. Didnt know how to use this digicam as I loaned mine to my 'mother in law' to be.

    SoftwareDrone,

Well, its much bigger now. By far, one of the biggest car dealers around the ASEAN region I'd presume.

    Nizam,

I wouldnt be surprise if it was snapped up by someone or even re-exported out... :)

The amount of Brabus', Mercedes (all sorts of models and in bulks!), Bimmers, Cayennes, Porsches, Bentleys, Jap performance rides, etc really made those cars look like a local Proton cars on the road.

Is that showroom in KL, near to a stadium with football field? I think I went past it a couple of years ago, remember seeing many Ferrari's and Lamborghini's there.

The prices are just as high here in Singapore and tend to be in lots of the countries in this region, there is a huge tax (i think someone said 300% in Malaysia) for importing overseas cars, meaning people here still have to pay the high local prices which are still cheaper than importing. For example here - An 05 Murcielago will cost about $720k US

it's actually located in Pj, Selangor. yup, there's 300% tax to the cars over here. so virtually, there's no hope of me owning an exotic over here.. ;)

    Remy,

The Enzo is the same person that owns the very first Hamann F430..... and also the Carrera GT and a lot of other exotics and is the president of the Porsche Club/Porsche distributor... I'm sure you would know who by now.. :)

Naza World sure got a lot more exotics since January when I was there. I will be there on the 30th of October. So hopefully I'll be able to see all these beauties up close (if they are still there). Anyone want to meet up?

Doubt tht he's the only one swanking around with an Enzo.. there was once, JP Chin too. Am sure there are a few here running without taxes/duty/unregistered.. you know.

Yea.. can meet up. Maybe I'd get my buddy out.. cos, I aint got a ferrari and certainly can only afford those CCB kits ONLY!! Guess i'm a blardy poser here in FChat without one. Actually, am here to learn more for my buddy since he doesnt bother much with this car as to him, its just another car till he gets his dream car which I'd never put a thought in my mind...
