DON'T park between two huge SUVs in a row of cars where you have to back out. You can't see anything till your tail is already way out there.

I was in the 328 today, dropping off some dry cleaning (sorry Enzo), and grabbed a front-row parking spot between a Ford Behemoth XLT and Toyota Monolith SR5 (or whatever it was). The Ferrari came up to their hubcaps.

Afterwards I started to back out, maybe 2 mph, foot off the gas pedal, and some guy in a Mazda coming across behind me slowed down a bit later than I would have liked. He was probably focused on the trucks' taillights up there in the clouds and the Ferrari was coming out at about the height of the average shop creeper in comparison. No one looks for cars this low anymore.

The moral of the story: park far and walk. ;)

Hey, most people would drop off their dry cleaning in their Ford Behemoth XLTs and Toyota Monolith SR5s, so you should be proud...!

Glad no damage was done. No one looks in parking lots, period. It’s unbelievable. Not long ago my friend’s C4 Corvette was hit twice in parking lots within two weeks. In both instances he wasn’t even moving – the other drivers were just brain dead.

Yep! I backed into a lady in a parking lot last year in my daily driver because of exactly that. I was parked next to some huge SUV and was so busy trying to see around it that I didn't see her come from the other side of the row, back, then stop! right behind me. Since she was smart enough to stop right in my path of course it was my fault.

That would help, but it's still like driving out of a tunnel into oncoming traffic.

No biggie, I usually park a bit away from everyone anyway.

When moving out of a "blind" parking situation, don't be afraid to sound some warning toots of your horn.

I found this out yesterday after two SUV pulled in next to me, I wish there was a public service announcement against this, not having power steering doesn’t help the situation either. No damage done, just a 5 minuet backing out process.

Throw the car in neutral and pull it out by hand into the road. Of course those who do this are men made of metal and brawn. Are you one of them?

I do what j15 suggests- back in - it helps a lot!

Alternately, get a handicap tag - nice wide parking spots right near the store! :)

Are you handicapped? Seems a bit of a stretch to pull off in that car.
BTW your car is so great looking, that color is great. Thanks for another pic post of it.

Has anyone ever noticed... no matter how far away you park in an exotic/sports car, when you come out there are ALWAYS cars surrounding it?

That is pretty funny and definitely true. I parked my car at the back of the lot of the supermarket (yes my wife and I sometimes go grocery shopping in the car) There was not a car in site, everyone was fighting for the spaces closest to the store, when I came out , to my surprise, a car was parked next to me. I could not believe it. No damage done , just pretty strange , being other spaces were available a lot closer to the store.

I saw a nice C6 Vette parked by itself in a mall parking lot, but it was about in the middle of the lot. So I parked in front of it. I come back and another C6 Vette parked next to me, lol. I think they were red and yellow and my car is orange so we all stood out. Then a freakin' large ass Dodge pickup parked next to all of us (no, not an SRT-10).

The other award is a plaque and is in my trunk. I didn't feel like getting it out at the time of the picture...
