Ditto :) Everyone is hot on the club idea, but I haven't seen it done right yet.

The response I get every time I ask someone out of the blue whether they'd be interested in joining a club is "sounds interesting, but let me try the car for a weekend first."

Doesn't mean I'm totally against the idea though.....;)

from what I have heard there was talk of this club picking up a Aston Martin Vantage and a few others before they start taking money in.. Somebody also mentioned they were going to purchase a track car for use in the Poconos/ Lime Rock --They said an older 911 gt3 or a Cayman S set up for track-- I think that would be nice. I will keep my eye on both sites to see if anyone is going--the jeweler sounds cool :)

Only 30-45 minutes away. I can try checking out the open house if anyone wants the inside scoop.

I know there are a bunch of people in Glastonbury (Joe, Charlie, Chris, etc.) who would probably love to come. I'll let Stanley know they are having an open house if he doesn't already know.

Hey guys just posting up for a new sports car club that is opening up in Glastonbury, CT.. I have no connection to the club--Maybe someday, but not at this time.
it is going to be a club for car enthusiasts to have use of the cars currently
Porsche Cayman S and Maserati- next will be Aston Martin Vantage and other cars to use as daily rentals some info
*looks like each location this one is in Glastonbury, CT would have a max of 30 members
*there would be 6 maybe more "club cars" that only club members could use, but members would have full use of the other rental cars---Boxsters/slk's/m3/maserati...that will be available to people interested in daily rentals--so a car will always be available for a club member
*monthly meetings you would put in for specific cars so everyone had the good stuff and it was shared equally
*all cars will be insured by the corporation so you basically just need to have insurance on a car you own and you would be covered.
*the facilities will be open 24 hours a day to club members so you can go clean your car /spend the night on the couch watch a ballgame...picking up and dropping off cars would most likely occur during normal business hours,
*as of now the plan is to allow 4000 miles a year per club member-you could sell miles or buy miles from other members and maybe back through the club itself. 4000 seems pretty good considering members would mostly use these cars for fun and enjoyment not as everyday vehicles.--what do you guys think?
*the cars will not look like rentals--no stickers/advertisements...I think they are trying to get vanity plates that is it.
*cars will be cleaned and all maintenance performed prior to pickup although some members like to clean they can feel free to
*as of now no corporate memberships -meaning you can not buy 1 chunk and let employees or clients drive the cars--youcan however get on a rental program where you have access to the lower level cars boxsters/slk's...
*every membership is for 2 drivers--so yes your wives can drive the cars or your domestic partner or business partner
*each member has to go through a basic license check --it does not have to be crystal clean, but I do not think reckless drivings and dwi's will go over well.

There are some pictures showing a few new hotels in the area by Hilton.. Any guess who the girl is? I will give you a hint --she has a famous father.. A rep or two from Skip Barber (Lime Rock) racing/driving school will be there--I am guesing in a Viper or a BMW since those are the Lime Rock sponsors. Open house starts at 5pm on friday Oct. 20th until ???--food and beverages will be served and it is free and open to all. Hope to see and meet some of you guys there.
