Fall's Foliage "Exotics Run" - October 22

Hi Guys, Enjoy reading the posts on the forum. My buddy has a 911 and told me about this, I also am friends with Steve who own's that red skyline R33 that was on the bull run's previously. I just wanted to make sure it was ok with the guys running this if it was okay for me to join you on this run. So I guess there will be 2 skylines in the mix. Here are some links/pictures of 2 of my cars Toyota Supra/ Nissan Skyline. Also the last link is my buddies porsche. I also agree on the non speeding rules... Too many tickets = Too much money that could have went into the house or cars.

I must give credit where it is due... Nice Advan's on the 33 and TS Volk LE's on the 2JZ. I have been to Top Secret in the Chiba Prefecture of Japan 2 times and IMO, Mr. Nagata's styling is just unequivicated here in the states.

 

So your brining the skyline or the Supra, or both.

 

Just stumbled across this thread, but I'm game as well.. The g/f is out of town that weekend anyway. Bringing my '99 Porsche Boxster.

kidding. the bnr33 is the best looking of the three...or four...however you look at it.

 

The R33 is like the 360 (Artistic looking) while the R34 is like the F430 (Race looking) thats how I look at it, same car tho LOL

 

Yeah definately... we're also going with a CarCrazy (Bob-- 355 GTS). It will definately be a fun day.

 

All i need to prove is that I have a driver's license.

I was the same - at least for photoshoot purposes I would take them off.

But for sure - sweet rides...

 

I live a mile from your starting point and was one of the 130 cars in August.
It was a fun run.

Not the most 'exotic' but it's definately not your average car.

 

I had to bail at the last minute at the last run, so I am in for this one! My car is not exactly a full out exotic although the interior colour is called 'Modena', maybe that qualifies me, but I don't see too many of them around here and I look forward to meeting everyone

I like what I see - big group of car enthusiasts - as the "media crew director" for this run I would like to address couple thoughts to you guys;

- there will be 2 official videocameras (me - Lukas & my bro - Voy) and 1 official photographer (Jason Thorgalsen). We will be riding in two s2000 but if any of you will have spare seat in a car and is willing to take a board a cameraman or photoman, we will highly appreciate it. That will allow us to gather more interesting footage

- we do this just for fun - no profits... all pictures and videos will be avaliable later for everybody to enjoy. Also hi quality video will be on DVD.

- just because there will be official media crew it doesn't mean that everybody else is not allowed to take pics and shoot vids on their own. Actualy I encourage to do it. Why? see next point.

- if you want to contibute to our work, you can share your footage from the event, and it'll be used in the final video. There is also an idea to create a DVD with collection of our videos from previous runs.

Yeah ive heard that one before.... JK. You guys are more than welcome to edit at my office if you want. Just give me a heads up becuase I have to make sure my guys arent editing. I even have my computers backed up incase of hard drive crashes

 

Lol... I'm supposed to have tapes back from Steve on Monday with finished stuff (keeping fingers crossed), so you can expect "something" before the weekend.

lol my tires are ownt from autox. If there is any hint of rain, I'm out. I can't go as fast as I did in august on turns due to tires. If it's highway, I'll go.

The shoot wasn't a major one just something we did on the side. i don't mind having the plates on there because if anyone wants it that badly they will find a way to get it (they will be dealt with accordingly on that behalf). The supra has some new parts going in to it as well. I am going to Japan probably in March to pursue my goals of starting business and hopefully I'll be shopping as well. My car is not tuned yet but does pull pretty fast and hard. Again as stated above we are not joining you guys to try and "race" to prove anything. I have had too many run ins with the police just because I sit on the opposite direction. The majority of the times the police have no clue but try and use their power to say I am in the wrong. I had one officer tell me he has been with force for 7 years. Actually heres the conversation

ME: How are you doing officer?
Officer: License registration. The reason why I am pulling you over is because your sitting on the wrong side.
Me: What do you mean?
Officer: It is illegal to sit on the side your on and drive in the U.S.
Me: That's not true officer, for example the mail man delivers mail and drives on this side.
Officer: Yea but they are the exception because they are government. Trust me Ive done this for 7 years I know what I'm talking about.
Me: Well officer are you saying there are exceptions to the law? That doesn't make any sense, and by the way the U.S. postal servie has been privatized so I don't think they should have any type of exception. So what about older Jeep wranglers, or shelbys that are imported that are on the same side as I am?
Officer: Hesitation /pauses. well im going to be right back

He goes to his car gets on the phone for about 25 minutes, comes back and says okay. -I called the DMV they said you are legit and are allowed to drive this car but only as a collectors car meaning you can't drive it everyday.

Me: Well I don't drive it everyday but my other cars are in the shop. If that's the case why didn't the DMV issue me collectors or historic plates? Why did i get regular plates and am paying full premiums on my car insurance? Are you saying the DMV doesn't know what they are doing or did the state make another mistake?

Officer: Well you need to discuess that with them.

Me: okay so what I need from you is your badge number and your name. My uncle is a SGT. down in south brunswick and I think he'll find this story pretty amusing. Also what precint or town do you work out of? I think they need to revamp training in that location.

By this time he knew he was in for some s**t because he pulled me over for no apparent reason. I told him have a nice day and he let me go. I'm not the type of person to sit here and bash on cops all day. However there are some out there who try and abuse what little power they have bewcause maybe they have had a "rough" child hood.
Anyway this happened Oct. 12, 2006 at around 9:00 a.m. I was late to work in part but my managers understand because it happens on a common basis.
