    Funny.

So some of the original Renault, err Benetton people who went to Ferrari have now come back to help their colleagues? :)

I just realized that the Ferrari boys are even putting on a BS tire. That should make for an interesting mix with the Michelins.

Does anybody know: Would that be technically even possible? Does a BS tire and rim fit onto a Renault (or any Michelin car)? Are the wheels interchangeable?

i think they should. F1 tyres sizes or the rim size i would say, is 13'.

I will assume that everyone runs the same wheels due to weight and the width restrictions. As for the tires, each team of course has their own made just for them but I would say a BS can fit a Mich rim and vise versa. The only question is would the car be driveable with a pair of BS thrown onto the front of Alonso's car?

I wonder if FA will try to sneak a few of the Renault boys to McLaren. Especially as McLaren is in need of a Dynamic Technical Director, who would fit the bill? Bob Bell from Renault, or will Geoff Willis go there after his gardening leave with Honda is over?

When a popular boss quits (Briatore), some other key people will leave also.
    Happens all the time.

Actually my technical question was in regard to the wheel hub and how the wheel attaches to the axle. Is that standardized?

Good question. I have not found it yet, but am looking through this document:
    http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/1603301296__2006_F1_TECHNICAL_REGULATIONS.pdf

I can tell you what the max over hang distances are for the body work over the front and rear tires are :D
    edit:
This is the only info I found in the regs:

ARTICLE 12 : WHEELS AND TYRES
    12.1 Location :
Wheels must be external to the bodywork in plan view, with the rear aerodynamic device removed.
    12.2 Number of wheels :
The number of wheels is fixed at four.
    12.3 Wheel material :
All wheels must be made from an homogeneous metallic material.
    12.4 Wheel dimensions :
12.4.1 Complete wheel width must lie between 305 and 355mm when fitted to the front of the car and between
365 and 380mm when fitted to the rear.
12.4.2 Complete wheel diameter must not exceed 660mm when fitted with dry-weather tyres or 670mm when
    fitted with wet-weather tyres.
12.4.3 Complete wheel width and diameter will be measured horizontally at axle height, with the wheel held in a
vertical position and when fitted with new tyres inflated to 1.4 bar.
12.4.4 Wheel bead diameter must lie between 328 and 332mm.
