Documents.. specifically, valuations.. yeah next week... unless they work weekends ! My customs man goes on holiday on Thursday, so I damn well better have it before then!
He hires a 100 tonne Frenna crane and hires a team of riggers to sling her fat ass up using a cow sling under her belly.
REALLY CLOSE NOW.. Got the bottom line all sorted out (GULP)... just get my furniture thing quarantine cleared, and canberra check the import papers off... then Wednesday truck it all to shop! Robbing double (triple) dipping government... you pay Import duty on the value (fair enough), then you pay GST on the value PLUS the duty (hmmm.. seems a bit cheeky, but ok, thems the rules)... THEN you pay Luxury car tax... and you pay the LCT.... ON THE OTHER TAXES YOU ALREADY PAID. So, whatever they rushed you for GST and Duty, you pay 25% of that again! (plus 25% of the value over the LCT threshold) You also pay a miriad of other charges.. 200 here, 300 there, 50 here, 27 there, 138 here etc etc.. And being an ex pat pom ain't worth a cent any more. Rules changed a while ago, OR if I'd bought the car just 8 months earlier than I did (98), I could have depreciated it differently. Anyway, car will sit here owing me pretty much what it's worth (now) which makes me feel happier.
Talk about a load of bollocks FF, You would think we are all cobbers here down under, bloody costing you a fair quid there mate, I'd go to bed early and drown your sorrows with a good bottle of plonk
yeah, ha ha smarty horse(thief)... being worth nothing is still better than being in a negative equity situation... crim...
Pap... you crack me up!! I can actually HEAR you trying a terrible cockney accent... you're a right pi55er mate, a proper charlie! Now, I better go and wipe these "cervical smears" off me "boat race"...!! (tears... face.... )
Too easy you yarra!!!! We are all barracking for you FF When are you and Rob going to settle it out on the track?
Oh, I'll just go and do my thing, and see if anyone can be bothered. If anyone wants to race me, we can go to the kart track....
anyone interested in buying a new watercooled push button start race kart each an racing competitively? i wanna get bak into kart racing!
No, they're serious race cars and can be killers too.... Yes [355], I'm interested in racing.... but I'd prefer to simply race rental karts as for me to race properly, I'd want to do it seriously, and you can't do that cheaply enough and/or in the amount of spare time I have. You can still have lots of fun and good close fair racing in a rental kart... We could do our own "championship"... simply have races at all the different Melb venues, and even some interstate perhaps...
Sounds good to me Phillus Any 'good' hire kart tracks around melb? Only one ive been to in recent times is the Port Melb one thats now closed! (unless its reopened?) Would love to get out in the Karts more...they offer a 70 lap ensuro for around $75 which would be terrific fun
