Curious if anyone has any experience in removing the back plate from around the speedo / RPM...etc?
I'm thinking about changing it to a silver one.
    How hard is it?

    Thanks alot, Danny / 1980 308 GTSi

Don't quite know what you're asking. Just had my '79's dash apart last weekend. Give me a little more info and I might be able to help.

    Danny,
Not hard at all. Loop some dental floss around each of the four indicator lamps in the corners of the plate and pull them out. Behind each one is a screw. Unscrew all four and try not to drop the screws into the dash someplace. Now just pull the plate out with the guages attached. Now just move the guages to another plate and re-install.

Just like Birdman says, very easy and just 4 screws. Just make sure you are using a magnetized screwdriver or you will drop those screws when you are pulling them out and they will disappear forever.
